Hello! Thanks for visiting my profile here on AVVO. I was born and raised in Colorado and love all it has to offer, especially the people! I received my Juris Doctor Degree (law degree) from the Denver University College of Law in 2002. While in law school, I served on the DU Law Review. Since 2002, I have successfully prosecuted thousands of Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy cases. I'm an active member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA), as well as a regular speaker and lecturer at Continuing Legal Education bankruptcy seminars, where I instruct and counsel other bankruptcy attorneys concerning complicated aspects of bankruptcy law. I'm admitted to practice law in the great State of Colorado and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. In 2010 I was selected as one of Law Week Colorado’s Attorneys of the Year.
My favorite part about being a bankruptcy attorney is that I get to help good people move past a difficult time in their lives. I believe that bad things can happen to good people and that sometimes, good people can make bad decisions. We all deserve a second chance and our bankruptcy laws are here to help you get that fresh financial start you are looking for.
If you are also looking for a no BS lawyer, who will tell it to you straight and give you access to one of the best consumer bankruptcy lawyers in the state (all for a reasonable fee), I'm your guy. If you are looking for the bargain-basement lawyer and price is your only concern, I'm not the lawyer for you, but I wish you the best!
My fees are reasonable and fair. I move fast and get things done. I treat my clients with respect. Professionally, I'm awesome at this one thing. I kick @ss when my clients need me to. I follow the Golden Rule (Do to others, what you would have them do to you. Matthew 7:12).
I'd love to help you move past this bump in the road so you can get back to what matters most in your life. I'm a good lawyer and I represent good people.

Relationship: Co-worker
I endorse this lawyer. Matt is a specialized and careful attorney who is always lending himself as a source for questions, insight and strategic conversations. The best part about him though, is that in the wild, wild west of the legal world, he is still a good guy that is out to do the right thing. Who can say that anymore?

I have known Matt since we were in law school together and I cannot recommend him highly enough for consumer bankruptcy matters. Over the years, Matt has taken the time to teach me the ins and outs of practicing bankruptcy, and though I no longer practice in this area of the law, Matt remains the one person I trust implicitly and know that I can refer my clients to, which I do. If you have a consumer bankruptcy matter involving either a chapter 7 or chapter 13, Matt is the attorney you should call.
