I really love my job. I am able to spend each day helping honest Coloradans gain freedom from crushing debt, and all the stress that comes with it, or guiding my clients through the maze of immigration laws and regulations to lawful immigration status or citizenship. It's a joy to find such meaning in your work.
As a practicing attorney since 2007, I've been fortunate to have helped my clients navigate through over 2,000 chapter 7 or 13 bankruptcies, and fought for settlements for many clients who were unlawfully harassed to pay a discharged debt after they filed for bankruptcy relief. I've also helped obtain employment- and family-based immigration and citizenship benefits for scores of clients. I'm also proud to have taught at legal education seminars on various issues, from chapter 13 practice, to immigration-related employer sanctions, to law firm management.
I’m not a Colorado native, but like they say I got here as fast as I could! I graduated from CU-Boulder with a Bachelor’s in Religious Studies and Anthropology, and received my J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. After graduating law school, my family – Brooke, Soren and Amelia – and I moved back to the Denver area, where I practiced immigration law with Ann Allott and bankruptcy law with Sharon Grossenbach before opening my own firm.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family (the 2- and 4-legged varieties), running, finding (and drinking) great Colorado beer, cheering on the Nuggets & Rockies, playing poker, and reading history and science books.

Although obviously not proud or thrilled to have to file bankruptcy, sometimes circumstances warrant it. In my case going through numerous personal circumstances, it was necessary. Before finding Andrew and his law firm, I tried two other attorneys. One which I payed quite a bit of money to. Both wer...

It was November 2022 when I initially consulted Attorney Andrew Trexler about my financial difficulties. I hesitated to file for bankruptcy at that time because I didn't want it on my record. A year later, I returned to seek his advice as my debt situation hadn't improved. After several consultati...

I can't remember how I found Andrew, but I am grateful I did. Due to a significant health issue, I needed to file to save my home. I met with him, and he walked me through the process and was there for me at every step. I would refer him to anyone in need of help.
"Andrew is a dedicated advocate and a trusted colleague. Having met him through the Colorado Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, I have been impressed by his professionalism, his commitment to probono endeavors, and his dedication to his clients."
"Andrew is a very smart attorney and a strong advocate for his clients. His knowledge of bankruptcy law is unmatched. I frequently use him as a resource for simple and complex bankruptcy issues. The advice he gives is always thorough, thoughtful, and practical. I highly endorse him!"
"Andrew is a great asset to the Colorado bankruptcy community. He recently participated in an effort among local bankruptcy attorneys urging one of our Judges to adopt a more forgiving approach regarding a serious technical issue that has been harming people in Chapter 13 bankruptcies. Here's what the judge said about this effort: ". . . the Court concludes that the additional information and legal argument advanced by the Bankruptcy Practitioners Group is well-developed and very useful to the Court notwithstanding some duplication. The Court commends the members of the Bankruptcy Practitioners Group for their time and effort as well as dedication to the development of bankruptcy law in this important area of Chapter 13 practice.""
"Whenever I have a client needing a bankruptcy attorney, I never hesitate to give the client Andrew's name. He is very thorough, easy to speak with, and honest about the client's situation, even if bankruptcy isn't the best choice for the client. He makes everyone who is going through this tough time feel that they have a supporter who will help them through the situation. He never judges anyone nor does he take advantage of anyone's situation. He is extremely professional and the only bankruptcy attorney that I recommend."
"Andrew is an excellent attorney who practices with the utmost integrity. I regularly refer my clients to him for their bankruptcy needs as I know he will always treat them with dignity and respect, and provide the best counsel."
"Andrew's clients trust him and he has a great reputation in the community as a very thorough advocate. He has been practicing for many years and has seen a lot of the complex issues that crop up when steering a case through the maze of bankruptcy laws and rules here in Denver."
"Andrew is a hardworking and knowledgeable bankruptcy attorney. He has a passion for helping people and he enjoys fighting for "the underdog.""
"A bankruptcy issue arose while I was working on a matter for a client. Andrew was able to help easily explain the bankruptcy concepts to my client, in plain English. He was very responsive and great to work with."
"Andrew is a tenacious advocate who diligently keeps abreast of new developments in bankruptcy law. He also has a caring spirit that people who are going through bankruptcy need. I have referred potential clients to him, and would not hesitate to do so in the future. I endorse this lawyer."
"Andrew is a dedicated and hardworking attorney who is both knowledgeable and easy to get along with. We have known each other for years and constantly trade information and knowledge back and forth. Highly recommended."
