Zachary Steven Westerfield

Zachary S. Westerfield is a partner at Westerfield & Martin, LLC where Zach is a trial and appellate advocacy attorney. Prior to becoming a partner at Westerfield & Martin, LLC, Zach was an attorney at Jaudon & Avery, LLP where his practice involved insurance defense work, select personal injury, commercial litigation and criminal law. Prior to working at Jaudon & Avery, LLP, Zach was a solo practitioner at The Westerfield Law Firm, LLC for five years. During that time, Mr. Westerfield’s practice was approximately 40% criminal defense, 30% consumer bankruptcy, 10% domestic relations, 10% appellate advocacy, 5% plaintiffs-side civil work, and 5% transactional. Mr. Westerfield has participated in over forty trials and contested hearings, the vast majority of which were jury trials. Mr. Westerfield attended Weber State University where he was a championship level policy debater. Mr. Westerfield went to law school at the University of Denver, where he obtained a dual JD and MA in Rhetoric and Communication Ethics. While at DU, Mr. Westerfield was a staff editor on the Denver Journal of International Law and Policy, interned with Colorado Legal Aid and the Public Defender’s Office, and was a graduate teaching instructor in the Human Communication Department, the director of the policy debate team and taught public speaking courses.
