Joseph Maher was my attorney for a post decree matter. My case was a mess from previous counsel, I was a mess from a bad experience, and I also was very hesitant to change attorneys. Retaining Joe was the best decision I made. When I sat in for my consult, he was honest, to the point, and didn’t prom...ise me anything he knew I wouldn’t get. Joe is a very detail oriented attorney, he will prepare a strategy for your case when retained and he will lead you in the right direction. There were times where I didn’t agree or see where he was going with something, however in the end, it was all part of a long term strategy. I’ve since been in the legal field myself and I know plenty of attorneys, the only one I would recommend for family law matters is Joe Maher. When I went in for first consultation he listened to everything I had to say and was able to help me laser focus in on what I needed to do to accomplish my immediate goals in separating from my then wife. I hired him shortly after I realized that I was heading towards divorce. He was very respons...ive and helped me get the ball rolling quickly thereafter. While representing me he was an effective advocate for me during the pre mediation phase. When disputes arose he took what I provided and told him and was about to squash the monetary dispute before it could go to mediation. For which I am very grateful. During the settlement he helped me properly convey how the house property was to be settled through the VA and to draw up the appropriate timelines that allowed me to, in the end, assume my home. Second he was able to help me reacquire my mistakenly or otherwise taken property. In the end I was able to divorce and still retain the roof over my head because of Joe.
