Biography
At the Andres R. Guevara Law Office, P.C., I provide ordinary people with skilled legal representation and counseling.
My singular background and legal experience assists me greatly in doing so. Prior to establishing my firm, I worked for nearly a decade as an Assistant District Attorney with the New York County District Attorney's Office and as an Enforcement Attorney in Denver with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, respectively. In the former position, I handled all aspects of criminal matters and conducted numerous trials; in the latter employment, I investigated and litigated cases of potential federal securities law violations by corporate entities and individuals.
I am bilingual and fluent in Spanish. I am a member in good standing with the Colorado Bar Association and a member of various local organizations including the Denver Bar Association, the Colorado Defense Bar, the Hispanic Bar Association and the Arapahoe County Bar Association.
I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and my law degree from George Washington University, where I was notes editor of the law review and president of the Hispanic Law Students Association.

Replied last June 03, 2024Both me and esteemed co-counsel worked diligently on this case as court appointed counsel and, like we do with all our clients, communicated professionally and courteously with the client. We of course can only imagine the difficulty for family members in criminal cases and we communicate diligently and respectfully with parents as well. Naturally, we cannot change facts nor ignore evidence, despite some desires to do so. Also, with all cases, we cannot communicate with people other than clients despite the strong wishes of others. Any plea of guilty can only be accepted after a person voluntarily enters such an agreement and we are diligent in making sure every client is keenly aware of this requirement. We have tried for several months to thoroughly explain this process to this reviewer and, although that effort is unsuccessfull do to reasons out of our control, we remain steadfast that the client was properly prepared for his decision, which is not the result of any “threats.”
