Our legal practice is devoted to achieve the best result for our clients at a minimum of expense to them. We try and keep all of our clients out of court but if court becomes necessary or expedient we do not shy away from aggressive representation of the client's interests. We also have life long experiences ourselves in raising our children to adulthood, caring for our elderly parents and handling disabilities of close family members. We bring our experiences to bear on our legal practice. We are active in the community with charitable organizations and active in bar association and continuimg legal education / We stay in touch with national state and local issues. We love to travel but we especially love what life offers us here in Colorado. We are blessed to live in a fine community and we believe in sharing our experience and love of community to enhance the lives of others, particualrly those who are vulnerable and in need. Above all we apply values to our practice and we take great pains in demystifying the law so our clients better understand the issues they face in life in context.

Don't Recommend
I do not recommend this attorney at all. A lot of promises, lack of expertise, zero result in estate recovery negotiation with Medicaid. He told me that Medicaid can't place a lean on my mother's property upon her passing. Sure enough, that's the first thing they did. This law office charged me for r...
This client tried to game the system and it ended up not working for her. We were honest and straightforward with her as I am with all my clients. I have successfully handled many medicaid lien cases and I have the only appellate case in Colorado on liens in the case of State vs.S.P 356 P. 3d 1033(Colo App 2015) which we won. Unfortunately I cannot prevent dissatisfied people from writing reviews but like anything else in life there will always be someone who blames the lawyer for their own problems.
"Eric is well versed in Social Security, Medicaid, special needs trusts and other areas of elder law. An excellent litigator and planner. Someone to count on for the most up to date information."
"I endorse Mr. Solem. He is a premiere elder law attorney. He is a consummate professional who has a great combination of skills: the careful yet, if appropriate, controlled approach with his clients; a willingness to adapt to the ever-changing environment of the elder law/trusts/probate practice; and a commitment to share his substantial knowledge with his peers. His ethical and genial approach to the practice sets a standard to which other attorneys should aspire."
"I endorse this lawyer. He and I have worked together in representing clients in estate planning and elder law litigation. I have also referred clients to him for Medicaid planning and guardianship issues. I am always impressed and my clients are as well with his expertise and the care he takes in representing all his clients."
"I endorse this lawyer. Eric has long been known as the "Dean" of probate and estate law in Colorado. I routinely consult him when dealing with complex personal injury or death cases. Eric is not only a recognized expert in his field, but a gentleman who is a pleasure to work with. His ethics are beyond question and his commitment to improving the practice of law in Colorado is impressive."
"Eric is a consummate professional, providing excellent counsel and representation in all areas of elder law. I heartily endorse Eric for any and all elder law needs."
"I heartily endorse this lawyer. Eric possesses a comprehensive knowledge of Elder Law and is an accomplished litigator and champion of the rights of Seniors and persons with disabilities."
