I truly feel lucky to have had Kevin as my attorney. I was arrested for DV charges and placed in jail over the weekend (arrested on a friday night waiting for an arraignment on monday). This was my first and only time in jail, but as anyone who has been in jail knows, it is not a place where you can ...research attorneys. He is humble and understanding, and to anyone dealing with the weight of a trial, having an attorney that is both capable and understanding is crucial in a very profound way. It is hope in a situation that can feel hopeless. I took a plea for a deferred sentence (Very very rare in DV cases), and it was to a reduced charge. (The original offer was for a permanent DV conviction.) I can now return to my life as a person with no criminal record. Know this, if you are facing a DV charge, the system is a machine working against you. If you are reading this with a friend in jail, let them know that they will be pressured to plea at their arraignment, and the plea is permanent. It can, and will never be retracted. They will never own a firearm, if they were a hunter, military or police, they will never be so again. They can not keep a weapon for their own protection nor can any of their loved ones (no shared access).

I was charged with a very serious offense after I defended myself from being attacked by several men in a crowded bar. The police that charged me had spoken to several witnesses that tried to make me look like the aggressor. What the police didn’t know was that some of these same witnesses were my at...tackers. These “witnesses” pretended not to know each other when they spoke to the police, and pretended not to be involved in the incident. The witnesses he spoke to were able to show that my attackers were group of men that knew each other, and that their account of what had happened was false, and that they were the aggressors. I was facing certain prison time because of my decision to defend myself against a group of drunken men. Because of Mr. Churchill’s representation, the truth came to light and my case was dismissed before there was ever a trial. I had no criminal record whatsoever before this happened.
