Guy Greenstein was the best choice I could have made in terms of representation for my divorce. His billing policies were more than fair and I never felt like there was a stopwatch running every time we’d speak regarding my case. His retainer was very reasonable and his up front estimates were dead... on, no hidden fees, ancillary billing or “nickel and dime charges”. The only additional costs I incurred were filing fees, my retainer was what the final totals added up to. He also very thorough on the initial consultation so by the time the consult ended he informed me of the potential exposures I had, the best way to address them and, in the end, it went exactly as he said it would. Guy also had a resource pool for other issues that I had such as the need for tax filings. He made sure that I was put in touch with the appropriate type of representation, tax lawyer or CPA, so he is knowledgeable enough in other areas that he does not personally handle and had recommendations for those people he knows that can handle them for me. At no time was I every treated like a case, I was always a treated like I was a top notch client. He never passed me off onto others and was ready with assistance for situations I thought might be happening, both real and imagined. There were no concerns too small for him to address and was willing, at any time, to step in and handle the communications with my ex and handled them very well. He did his best to keep things calm and peaceful with no added drama. While it was, for the most part amicable in the sense we agreed on the end result, discussing it directly was not always productive so he would handle things at those times and do it so well that she was at ease as well. Lastly, while the divorce is not yet final, all the paperwork and legal issues have been settled he has remained in the loop for the tax filings and he’s actively monitoring it. When it looked like there might have been an issue he chimed in immediately and assured me that if need be, he could and would step back into the situation to see to it that it reaches the agreed upon result. He did this proactively, without any requests being made by me or my accountant. His attention to this is not a matter of adding to his fees, but I believe it is out of his dedication to seeing this process through. Every email I send in regards to the divorce, I copy him on knowing that he will be there if I need him to be. When you hire Guy, you have hired a lawyer to be sure, but you have also hired an advocate. Everything he does is planned, timed and executed in a manner consistent with getting me the results I wanted. While keeping things civil and low key throughout, I never had cause for concern that if need be, he could and would apply the right amount of pressure to keep things on track.
