As a junior in college, I discovered that I was extremely passionate about criminal law and helping people, and I wanted to turn these passions into a career. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University, where I majored in sociology and minored in psychology, I attended the Texas Tech School of Law. While in law school, I was an executive member of the Organization of Women Law Students and the Student Bar Association. I was also chosen as a member of the Client Counseling team, where I competed against students from other law schools. The competition and training focused on building a comfortable and professional relationship with clients. My final year of law school, I was a Student Attorney in the Caprock Regional Public Defender Clinic. In the clinic, I traveled to many of the rural counties surrounding Lubbock, such as Hockley, Terry, Dickens, and Swisher county. I handled numerous misdemeanor, felony, and juvenile cases, all before graduating from law school. I successfully negotiated dismissals, probation, or deferred adjudication for many of my clients. In May 2019, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from law school. After graduation, I took and passed the Texas Bar Exam and was sworn in as a licensed Texas Attorney in October 2019.
