Client Arrested by the Potter County Sheriff's Department for Theft
Feb 03, 2016OUTCOME: Case Dismissed
Client was accused of theft by his manager when he was working at a local sex shop. The manager reported that the client and another employee (co-defendant) stole items out of a bin and left through t ... he back door. The problem with the case was that the manager lost the video of the incident. Subsequent investigation by my investigators revealed that the sex shop was promoting and turning a blind eye to numerous illegal activities to include Indecent Exposure, Public Lewdness, drug usage and prostitution. The client was a young man working at the front desk and did not participate in these illegal acts. He was trying to make some extra $$ to get through college. The manager was also co-managing the establishment with a registered sex offender. We had reason to believe the manager was engaged in the drug trade. We also discovered that the co-defendant was a proven thief in the past. When this information and supporting documentation was presented to the County Attorneys Office, he dismissed the case to avoid the public embarrassment of supporting such an establishment in bringing a case against my client knowing I would reveal everything in a court of law. This is a win and a perfect example of legal, documentary, and investigatory research in order to get a case dismissed. We win at pre-trial and don't wait for trial to exonerate you!
