The process of moving through a bankruptcy is difficult and scary enough for most, and while declaring bankruptcy should be a last resort, and one to be taken very seriously, the counsel you choose to aide you in navigating through this life changing event should be more than competent enough to guid...e you through what can be very murky waters and also instill confidence and hope of a new day once you have completed the journey. That feeling of competence, confidence, and a new beginning can truly make the difference. I am a professional, a business owner, and it was a difficult business situation that created my downfall. I started my bankruptcy journey with a different recommended law firm, and had a Very different experience. It was a female bankruptcy attorney, and I thought, looking for anything comfortable and familiar at this stressful time that being female myself we would at least have that in common. That much was true, but didn’t matter much. Communication with that firm was incredibly difficult. Emails were frowned upon & phone conversations had to be scheduled. When you managed to get a phone conversation answers were few and very ambiguous, at best, leaving me feeling like I was swimming with sharks in chummed water and without a cage. Leaving that firm became a nightmare as well and cost me dearly. No-one should have to go through such a nightmare, especially when they are already going through the nightmare of a bankruptcy. I felt a bit shattered, and more than scarred when I showed up at Mr. Michael Baumers firm and asked them to review my case. Within minutes I could tell this experience was going to be different. Michael put me at ease almost immediately. There was no pretense, no “mystery”, and all my questions at our initial meeting were welcomed and answered fully and satisfactorily. As we moved through the process, which went quite quickly and smoothly, emails and calls were welcomed, and answered or returned very promptly by Mr Baumers quite able, efficient and effective staff, Kevin & Renee, who always treated me with kindness and respect. In the end, the desired result was achieved, my bankruptcy and discharge granted as well, and all in a very timely manner. More importantly, I left the experience feeling confident & hopeful in my new beginning, and incredibly blessed for having the great fortune to have had Mr. Baumer and his firm on my team. Mr. Baumer and his team were a huge help to us! My husband and I were so nervous about filing, but Mr. Baumer and his team held our hands the whole way through. He was never condescending or anything other than helpful the entire time. He explained every step of the filing process to us in detail, an...d I love that he was able to work with us in our unique circumstances.
