Born and raised in Austin, I spent ten years in New Orleans where I graduated with a dual Bachelors in Legal Studies and Marketing from Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business in 2008. Thereafter I attended Loyola University New Orleans College of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2012. Over the next four years, I dabbled in toxic tort and environmental litigation, personal injury, and criminal defense before returning to Texas in 2016 and establishing myself as an administrative/healthcare lawyer with the Leichter Law Firm. I truly believe in the work that we do. I worked hard for my state licenses, and I work hard to protect those of my clients. Because your license is more than just a piece of paper; it is your livelihood. And your livelihood is worth defending.

Angel Here on Earth
Re: Betty Smith. I had the honor to be blessed with an Angel on earth to work my case. Following back up with me after a year set off due to me trying to do it myself, is why I chose her over anyone else. Very knowledgeable, no question to big nor small. When I felt like throwing in the towel, the words of encouragement to keep fighting to make my wrongs right. Follow up majority of the times the same day. Support system is phenomenal for those of us who had to get psych eval. For anyone who is looking for representation , look no further. I thank God for her daily for her taking the time to work my case this last year and the end results I'm elated. With tears in my eyes, I'm more than honored to write this testimonial. Thank you for working on my case, Mrs. Smith. Speaking for me when I felt like I didn't have a voice. For your will not go in vain. Thank you Jesus for second chances. Psalms30:5

My lawyer is better than yours!
I cannot speak highly enough about my Betty Smith. She represented me as my attorney and always took my calls, responding promptly to my e-mails and all correspondence. She spoke on my behalf to the BON. She helped me greatly when I felt powerless. Betty Smith is a kind, intelligent and very hardworking attorney who will go the extra mile for her clients. Again, i cannot speak highly enough about her. Betty Smith is a very smart and caring attorney and a blessing to have for representation.

"Betty" was calm, patient, professional, and displayed amazing communication skills with her timely updates about my case. I went with reviews in 2019 and was grateful that I made an excellent choice in restoring my license back.

Betty guided me through the most difficult time of my career. Her knowledge and advice was crucial to my case and eventually what helped me to get my case dismissed. She was quick to respond to my questions and explained all of the BON processes clearly. I can not recommend her enough.

I am so grateful I contacted Elisabeth Saxton Smith, and hired her represent me with the Texas Real Estate Commission. She was a pleasure to work with, very thorough, and she got the job done. I now have my TREC license, and I owe it all to her and her diligence. Thank you Elizabeth, I really appreciate you and your firm.

I highly recommend Betty Smith to represent against TX BON complaint.
Receiving a certified letter from the TX BON is unsettling to say the least. Betty is highly versed in TX BON procedures, TX BON time lines, and the critical subpoenaed information/documentation needful for a proper investigation by herself and the TX BON. Betty works tirelessly to answer client questions honestly and calmly. She maintains a humble, respectful, and calm demeanor in her phone calls and emails. She listens well and gives wise counsel, careful not to escalate an already stressful ordeal. She went above and beyond for me and I am forever grateful. Whenever I grew afraid or worried as the case seemed to drag on too long, she quieted my fears with facts. Fourteen months later, she received the good news that the TX BON had closed my case with no prejudice/action against me. Betty even went out of her way to inform me of the results the moment she received them. That is absolute class in my book, to be concerned about the emotional toll such an ordeal takes on her client and chooses to let her client know asap via email and not have to wait for a mailed letter response. She also wished me a good weekend. Thank you again Betty! You did an outstanding job and I highly recommend Betty!

Compassionate, knowledgeable and extremely thorough lawye
Elizabeth (Betty) Smith recently represented me in a case with the Texas BON. She was very helpful, reassuring and made the whole process tolerable to say the least. She is very knowledgeable about the process and keeps you informed of every step along the way. She is very supportive and prepares you thoroughly. She is prompt in her communications with you, and you never feel as if you are going through the Board review alone. I would not hesitate to hire her or anyone else from her firm in dealing with the Texas BON. She represented me before the BON and even though the whole process took over a year, we had a successful outcome and I am so thankful I hired her to help me with this.
