Biography
Attorney Melissa Williams practices family law exclusively. She is a native Texan and graduated from the University of Texas School of Law in 1995 and became licensed to practice law in Texas that same year. She opened her law practice in 1995 and has been practicing family law exclusively in the Austin area since that time. Melissa became board certified in family law in 2000. She was named in Texas Super Lawyers® Rising Stars℠ in both 2004 and 2005. She has been selected to Super Lawyers from 2021 – 2026. Melissa was recognized by her peers in the 2026 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for her high caliber work in Family Law, Family Law Mediation, and Collaborative Law: Family Law.
Melissa Williams guides clients through complex family law issues, including divorce, complex property division, child custody, pre and post nuptial agreements, and modification of child custody and child support. In addition to practicing traditional litigation, she also practices collaborative law and is a charter member of the Collaborative Institute of Texas. Melissa understands that divorce and other family law issues can be very difficult, and she handles each case with compassion and professionalism.

Comapssionate and knowledgable
Melissa was extremely professional, compassionate and knows the law about divorces in Texas. She very much walked me through the process, her assistant was always available to answer questions as well. It was all done in ample time and fashion.
