Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2010, James W. Evans or “Jimmy”, has been in practice for 16 years. Mr. Evans is also a lifetime member of the Texas Academy of Family Law, a Lifetime Member of the Texas Family Law Foundation. Mr. Evans is a member of the Family Section of the Travis County Bar and the State Bar of Texas and has been admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of . Evans graduated law school at Texas Wesleyan University in just over 2 ½ years in 1994.

After becoming licensed in May 1995, worked as an assistant criminal district attorney with the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office. During this time, Mr. Evans prosecuted such crimes as domestic violence, protective orders, family violence, sex crimes against children, and other felony and misdemeanor crimes for nearly 5 years. During this time, Mr. Evans spent significant time working with children and protecting them against the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Evans was nicknamed “scrapper” for his scrappy litigation style. Thereafter, Mr. Evans worked in commercial litigation with a private firm until becoming a father 6 years ago. Since that time, Mr. Evans focused his practice exclusively in the area of family law.

During Mr. Evans’ 18 years of practice, he has obtained extensive court room experience and has over 100 jury trials to his credit. Mr. Evans has successfully mediated many cases and is trained in collaborative law.

In 2010, Mr. Evans completed the requirements and has been recognized by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and was honored to become board certified in Family Law.

excellent service

Mr Evans met with me and discussed my case throughly. After taking down my information, he suggested several options. After we decided on a course of action, he or his staff, kept me apprised of the situation. The case changed somewhat from one direction to another but I was always notified and infor...med of all my options. While divorce is a painful process, having the Evans law firm onmy side made me believe the outcome would be as we discussed.

Evans Family Law Group was great to work with during one of the most difficult experiences of my life. Divorce is not great for anyone involved but Mr. Evans Agreed divorce process makes it as easy as it can get. I anxious about needing legal counsel and its costs. Evans Family Law Group offers great... options for those in agreement to be divorced, but need a formal guidance and support.

I was referred to Evan's Family Law Group from a friend, and had the pleasure of working with Kimberley House. When I first met with Kimberley I was overwhelmed and emotional. First, Jimmy is a man of his word. In a field that is often, by its nature, rife with anxiety, fear, and frustration, being able to trust another attorney's word has a tremendous impact on a client's ability to manage their emotions, the attorney' ability to remain focused on the legal issues, and finally, the overall cost of the suit.
