Fred Walker is a board-certified attorney, having first been certified as a specialist in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 1989. Mr. Walker practices law in his own firm, Fred E. Walker & Associates, P.C. He has practiced in this field since 1983, when he graduated from Texas Tech University School of Law. In 1978 Mr. Walker obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas in Austin.
Mr. Walker is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, College of the State Bar of Texas, Texas State Bar Association, Travis County Bar Association, and the Bankruptcy Section of the Austin Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in all Texas Courts; the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Tax Court.
He has handled numerous matters throughout the state involving bankruptcy, reorganizations and resolution of tax deficiencies, representing primarily debtors, but also representing creditors, trustees and other interested parties. A substantial portion of his practice is devoted to the representation of individual debtors in consumer bankruptcy proceedings and resolving tax collection matters, and he has successfully represented over 15,000 people during his career.
Mr. Walker is rated Excellent by AVVO, one of the leading websites where consumers go to find information about lawyers, and he has been awarded the AVVO Client’s Choice Award in 2012 and 2013. He is active in local community and civic affairs. He has served as a Trustee for the Lake Travis Independent School District where he served as an advocate for children and education.
Fred Walker has three children; his eldest son Garrett is studying Criminal Justice at Texas State University, his oldest daughter Rachel is studying Management and Marketing at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas; and his third daughter Katie is a Junior at St. Michael's Academy in Austin, Texas. Both Garrett and Rachel plan on following in their father's footsteps and attending law school while Katie has her heart set on being a Pediatrician.

Professionalism at it's best
