The Best

Plain and simple, as my title says, Anderson Simmons is the best there is at defending against junk debt buyers. I hired him on three separate occasions after being served with lawsuits from them. He forced two into dropping their suits early- one actually folded upon receiving word that Andy w...as representing me. The third he fought tooth and nail all the way to trial and trapped the opposing attorney into making a complete fool of himself to the court. He was unrelenting and was even awarded sanctions for exposing their misconduct with discovery rules and procedures. Needless to say we won but he was not done yet. He subsequently filed a lawsuit on my behalf for FDCPA violations against the debt buying company that initially sued me and I was awarded more than what I had originally stated that I would settle for. That was a happy day!

Lawsuit Dismissal

Thank you so much for your help. I really know I would have been hung out to dry by this company's attorney. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your knowledge and smooth calm disposition that helped me from pulling my hair out with the stress from this case. Andy, I thank you again for making me... feel like I was your only client with keeping me abreast of legal things I would have not known defending myself against this seasoned attorney. I sing your praise for getting this suit dismissed.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I would not hesitate to recommend anyone sued by a debt buyer to hire Mr. Simmons. I also represent consumers and had the good fortune to be in court recently where Mr. Simmons was arguing on his client's behalf against a debt buyer. He was articulate and had strong arguments and in the end, after well-argued points on both sides, Mr. Simmons got the case against his client completely dismissed. While some attorneys encourage settlement or charge fees through the roof, I believe Mr. Simmons is a fair and strong advocate for consumers."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
