I was being sued. I was at a complete loss, and had badly bungled the response to the court, thinking I would be able to represent myself. I did not know who to turn to. Fortunately, I contacted D. Michael Schafer, and it turned out to be the right move. He was able to take my case, even though I had... but three days to respond to a judgment hearing, and he did not have a lot of time to prepare. The first thing he did was to ask for a continuance and amend my response. I would never have thought of that. The next thing he did was to ask for depositions from the parties that were suing me. This was in my opinion, simply a way to discover and expose any shortcomings they had in their case against me. After what seemed forever, the parties that were suing me decided that it was better to drop the case against me rather than have to face my lawyer, D. Michael Schafer. As far as I am concerned he was able to take the apprehension and fear out of having to respond to court ordered appearances. I was able to breathe a bit better knowing I had a very competent attorney handling my case. I was confident enough that I went and added another case to his workload. I know I would not have come out of these cases unscathed, and I would have lost. As to further explain, after my cases were closed, I was still able to contact him on legal matters, and he would promptly respond to my questions, and even provide information, to me, even though I had not spoken to him in a while. He still had my interests in mind, and kept me informed of any changes to the law that might impact me. I recommend him whenever I find someone that has need of legal representation.

Michael Schafer did an excellent job providing legal advice on my case and explaining the court process. He provided me with immediate feedback to any questions and concerns that I had about my case. He kept me informed about my case through emails and phone calls and he made sure my rights and priva...cy was protected. He was there to defend me when creditors violated my rights.
