Prior to attending law school Ms. Valdez, served as a nurse in a variety of demanding positions. This included time as a nurse in maximum security area of the Texas Department of Corrections, the Travis County Sherriff's Department, and in Emergency Room Medicine. These high pressure, and extremely intense working environments, when coupled with dealing with oftentimes dangerous suspected criminals and inmates required Ms. Valdez to think and act both quickly and decisively. Traits such as these carry over into her legal practice and help Ms. Valdez adapt to the constant ebb and flow of complex trial situations.

No Nonsense, Direct and professional
If only I had found her sooner!! We hired Stacey Valdez and Associates a little late in our game but they were extremely prompt and professional from the jump. They corrected so many errors the previous attorney made, and completely turned our sinking ship around. Stacey is no nonsense and made sure I was informed about my case the entire way through. I have and will recommend her to anybody looking for a straight to business attorney.

Highly recommended and worth it
I can not speak highly enough of Stacey Valdez and Associates. After months of researching other lawyers, and interviewing my top choices, Stacey stood out head and shoulders above her peers. After working with her and the wonderful people in her office since May 2019 (my case is dragging on because of the opposing party and COVID shut-downs of the court), I can honestly say that I made the right choice with her. She is extremely knowledgeable of her subject matter and she also knows all the local players quite well. She is highly respected by other lawyers and judges and by me as well. Her staff is competent and friendly.

Experienced, Transparent and Direct
Stacey has been very transparent and direct from the beginning, these are traits not found often with attorneys. We haven't always agreed on some of the approaches she recommends, but so far she has been consistently correct. I have full faith in her experience and abilities as an attorney. Stacey has been my attorney for the last 5 months and counting. Our custody case is not completed yet but it is on the right track. I would also like to comment that her Associate Michaela and her Paralegal Danielle are second to none, they have all been there every step of the way with us.

Stacey’s office is currently representing me in a child support matter and she and her staff have been nothing but courteous and professional. Awesome Lawyer
Stacey is an excellent, knowledgeable, professional, confident, and personable lawyer. I felt at ease with her. She is very thorough in collecting info at her free initial intake. Her staff guides you through the process after that. However in court, Stacey fights and fights hard for you. Her legal knowledge, her incorporation of it and her flexibility with it in your specific case is amazing. She helped me through a divorce that ended up being done by default at first because my now ex-husband continuously dodged being served. What I wanted most was custody of my kids and NO geographical restrictions for where I could live with them. I got this in the default, but it was threatened when my now ex-husband retained an attorney to challenge the defaulted divorce decree with a motion for a retrial. I distraught and this worsened at the actual motion hearing when the judge appeared to lean towards granting the motion. However, nimble-thinking Stacey read the judge correctly at every turn and stepped in appropriately. She conceded at times, offered compromises at other times, and respectfully rebuffed too. In the end, the motion was denied. I am so thankful for Stacey's help. Some reviews mentioned problems with Stacey's staff. I did not experience this, but emailing Stacey directly may have helped. I like this "open door-like" policy she has.

I was a father seeking custody of my young son. I came to find out that Stacey Valdez is the pistol you want on your side. She is the most fearless and fierce woman I have ever met. Stacey’s knowledge of the law is extraordinary. She took my case and brought calm to a chaotic situation, handling every matter effectively and efficiently. Her staff was always available, professional, helpful and friendly. Stacey’s associate attorney Michaela Balderas brought even more to the table, making this team unbeatable. In the courtroom Stacey was confident and on her toes at all times. Out of the courtroom, her sense of humor and unfiltered observations brought a sense of lightheartedness to a gloomy situation, which calmed my nerves and raised my spirits. In the end, I was appointed Sole Managing Conservator of my son. She was a hero for my little man and no doubt helped save his life. Excellent lawyer!
If you are reading these reviews then you are in need of a good lawyer and you've landed on a great one. I've used Stacey Valdez on a number of matters over the last 4 years related to my divorce. I only wish I had used her for the original divorce, she is a fantastic lawyer! Stacey has represented me through several suits including more than a dozen hearings, several mediations, depositions and a jury trial. She was always there for me, fighting hard for me and ultimately securing primary custody of my children. As a Father, challenging my ex-wife for custody of our children was not easy. Stacey understood my position and took the time to develop and execute a very effective legal strategy. There were bumps along the way – motions may not go your way, dates may be reset outside of your control, but in the end we were able to show a jury that it was in the best interest of the children to live with me. Stacey is outstanding in the courtroom! Her demeanor and understanding of the law is second to none in that setting. If you go to trial you want Stacey representing you. What makes Stacey the right choice is not just her resume, her certifications, her knowledge of the law and her expertise in front of both judges and juries, it's that she gets emotionally invested and it shows. She's different than other lawyers I've watched because I know she really cares about my family situation and all of the outcomes. She will also tell you what you need to hear whether it's what you want to hear or not. She’s got strong ethics and will tell you when you are wrong too. This is more important than you think as I've seen the difference in ethical and non-ethical lawyers during my trial. She’s also been fairly easy to communicate with as lawyers go and quick to respond. No lawyer is going to always be able to drop everything and answer every call or email immediately even if they advertise they will. A good lawyer will have a heavy case load with many clients to deal with and will be in court a lot. They also won't study all the details of your case months before your hearing or trial because they won't remember it. Once you understand this and realize she's on top of things despite you not having daily updates, you’ll learn to relax and let her work for you. But when Stacey walks into that courtroom I feel confident every time that I’ve got the right lawyer with me.

I actually haven't even had to retain Stacey yet- but I am waiting on my ex husband to file for custody of our14 year old son. When he does I will be going straight to her . She did my cousins divorce and was amazing! She fought for him and his kids.

Divorce in Harris County
I want to first point out that the whole notion of divorce was simply terrifying to me as a husband of many years. Stacey and her amazingly professional staff really helped to calm my fears along every step of the tedious process. Her experience and knowledge of Texas divorce law is top notch. In fact, one of the main reasons I hired Stacey was due to her certification in Family Law. If you are even merely contemplating seeking a divorce I highly recommend you take a meeting with Stacey - she will put you at ease about the entire process and be there for you every step of the way.

I prayed for God to send me a miracle, he sent me Stacey Valdez!!
My divorce was extremely complicated and had several issues that made me feel like I was fighting a losing battle. From the day I hired Stacey, she took the bull by the horns and I marveled at her legal genius. She is incredible to watch in action, and definitely worth every penny. Not only did I get everything I asked for, I walked away with 85% of our assets. I know all too well how emotional divorces are and her great sense of humor always made me feel at ease. Our divorce was so ugly and chaotic it resulted in two criminal charges against me. Stacey handled both of the criminal cases as well. Her expertise with both criminal law and family law was impressive. Both cases were dismissed and I couldn't have done it without her. To make matters worse, the ex then tried to involve CPS and I also hired Stacey to handle that situation. The minute the CPS worker heard my attorney was Stacey Valdez and all communications needed to go thru Stacey, the frivolous investigation seemed to disappear over night. I have referred several people to Stacey and I know if I ever have any legal issues, she is my go-to gal. She truly is a secret weapon. Hiring her for my second divorce made me wish I would have known about her for the first one. There is nothing worse than spending thousands of dollars on a useless or mediocre attorney. I really lucked out finding her. If you are going into battle, you need a bullet proof vest and a good weapon. Anyone else is like wearing aluminum foil for armor. Best decision I ever made.

"DEFENDER" - Tough to the core, and won't back down.
Stacey was assigned to me as a public defender on a nightmare of a criminal case. In light of the events, things could have gone much worse, but I put my trust in her to take care of me, and she did exactly as she said she would. She is TOUGH. She takes no nonsense from the prosecution, and commands a tremendous amount of respect from everyone in the courtroom, and pays attention to the details. She is a DEFENDER. I will also be retaining her for divorce. She is a bulldog and won't back down, and won't allow you to be treated unfairly.

An Excellent fighter who can make things happen... A great partner and a great Attorney!
Stacey did an exceptional job for me. She was my 3rd attorney in my 6 year battle for my kids. She was the first who was able to make positive traction and ultimately save my kids from a terrible situation. She was incredible in court and did an amazing job in trial. BULLDOG IN THE COURTROOM
Stacey tried a custody case for me a couple of months ago. She was so good. I was astonished at her ability to dismantle all of the witnesses for my ex. NOT GUILTY!!!!!!
Stacey handled a criminal matter for me which went to trial. She was unbelievable in the courtroom. It was obvious that she was well prepared, knew the law and had the respect of the prosecutor and judge. If you get in trouble, she is the one you want to handle your case.
