Prior to attending law school Ms. Valdez, served as a nurse in a variety of demanding positions. This included time as a nurse in maximum security area of the Texas Department of Corrections, the Travis County Sherriff's Department, and in Emergency Room Medicine. These high pressure, and extremely intense working environments, when coupled with dealing with oftentimes dangerous suspected criminals and inmates required Ms. Valdez to think and act both quickly and decisively. Traits such as these carry over into her legal practice and help Ms. Valdez adapt to the constant ebb and flow of complex trial situations.
In addition to being one of the principal partners in one of the Texas Gulf Coast's most respected law partnerships, Laird Valdez, LLP, Ms. Valdez is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, the Galveston County Bar Association, and the College of the State Bar.
