Peggy Sue Bittick

This is the worst attorney that has probably ever been licensed by the State of Texas. She is, as the others have suggested, great at selling herself but then can't move the ball down the field once she is involved with litigation. She is scared of the courtroom and allows other attorneys to roll o...ver her. Instead of reyling on facts, she gets defensive and this hurts the client. Thanks to her, I spent over $15,000 apparently for emails, phone calls and correspondence to tell her to do her job and all I got was what I could have gotten on my own. She is horrible. Save time and money and find another attorney.

After having a poor experience with the first lawyer I hired to handle my divorce, I interviewed several attorneys and decided on Peggy Bittick. She did a great job selling herself, promising to do everything she could to protect and represent my children and I, however once I signed on, all she deli...vered was disappointment at a hefty price. Her associate attorney that first handled my case completely messed things up and filed a divorce decree that was incomplete. So then I had to pay to have her fix it. That was nearly two years ago, and it's still not done. She is very poor at communicating. I will have to email her several times before she responds, yet she charges for every email. She has rescheduled my court dates several times due to her schedule conflicts, yet ignored my schedule requests. Last time I showed up at court to find that she had rescheduled without telling me!

Peggy's an excellent choice for a divorcing parent who puts integrity, honesty and child welfare at the forefront of all communications. Peggy handled my child custody/support/visitation & divorce proceedings (with an added jurisdictional issue) which were all bundled into one giant mess. I was satis...fied with the turnout of my case and her handling of it, including her legal advice, knowledge of pertinent case law & statutes and personability. Payment: she bills by increments, requires a retainer up front & prompt payment of all balances due upon receipt just like every other attorney with whom I've worked - no surprises. She price-quotes accurately based on honest presentation of facts and issues, is exceptionally reasonably priced, and provides impeccable legal advice. Pros: compassion, understanding, patience, life experience, knowledge of Brazoria County ins & outs, dedicated to child welfare, personable. Cons: bristly office staff, no payment plan options. In sum, 2 thumbs up.

I have had the unfortunate circumstances to need to hire an attorney 3 times in my life. The particular case was so important to the welfare of my infant grandsons life and safety, I thought hiring a woman who claims to be a childs advocate, who was born and raised in the area, was a mother and knew ...the court system in the county would be a true assest and someone that would work hard and effectively. I could not have been more work. She is great at selling herself, this she does very well. But please make sure you discuss pricing with her. She is the attorney that charges you for every letter she opens, email she reads, phone call she takes and she charges in increments of 15 minutes, even though it took 5 mintues or less......you wouldnt think that could get that expensive, but it can. She had a lot of turn over at her office, the associate I started with at her firm, walked out, shortly thereafter another attorney left, her legal assistant left and that consisted of abt half of her staff. I was intially quoted $5000.00 and in 10 months that turned into approx. $18,000.00. for temporary custody. We didnt win, we compromised with the other side since my attorney had not done her homework and was not prepared. We had an ex-husband from the first marriage(who has custody of those children) a pedtrician, daycare, police detective and cps all prepared to testify, however she did not even send out the supeonaes until the day before at 2:00pm even though she had been given all their addresses 3 weeks in advance, needless to say only 1 person showed, but of course I still had to pay for all those supeonas. This information is just the tip of the iceberg......if you like not having someone that is prepared, studies the fact, charges high prices and communicates only when you initiate it after multiple attempts.....then Bittick is the attorney for you.
