Choose Peggy if you want integrity and intelligence on your side!

Ms. Bittick has assisted me a number of times for various reasons... court issues, family estate issues (that unfortunately were only resolved through litigation), personal will/estate planning, etc. Additionally Peggy has successfully helped my daughter and son with their individual needs. We hav...e found her to be a great listener, thorough, honest, compassionate, fair, and most importantly well informed of laws and statutes. My experiences with her have been great. I would like to add that my husband was an attorney before he passed...I know what is reasonable to expect from the attorney as well as what NOT to do as a client. I am disappointed to read that former clients would write poor reviews ... It would be interesting to see how they would rate as a client! Regardless, Peggy Bittick is a Christian, a scholar, honest, and hard working for her clients. I would trust her with my life.

Peggy saved my daughter from torment

I would recommend Peggy Bittick for any family matter. I hired Ms. Bittick to represent my daughter in a very tormenting matter. The case involved convicted abuse commited by my daughter's father. I had previously hired another attorney, but he was very uninterested in the welfare of my duaghter. ...Peggy worked the case with great compassion for my daughter and did an excellent job of handling the case. It didn't matter what the situation was, Ms. Bittick was professional and up to date on the laws that dealt with every detail. Without Ms. Bittick, my daughter would still be living in torment. I praise Peggy Bittick for a job VERY WELL DONE!

Don't hire Peggy Bittick

I hired Peggy Bittick on a referral for a divorce case. It was all about the money with her. I didn't know half of the things she and her staff were doing and that I was being charged for. She told me her staff was very competent, and that it would be cheaper to talk to them than her. Every time I ta...lked with her two staff people, they always said they needed to talk to Peggy about it. So I got charged for talking to them and then waiting for Peggy's response. I was charged again when she acted. She asked me to get her a bunch of phone records, which I emailed to her and she never put into use. On top of all this, I negotiated all of the details of my divorce with my ex-wife, and Peggy was simply a puppet to our negotiations. After the mediation, she told me there was only one more document she would have to draft and the opposing lawyer would finalize and present to the court. That was January. I had over $2000 not used at that point. Well, April rolled around, the divorce was finalized, she used up the remaining $2000 for $4000 and was asking for $500 more. I was billed a couple times for corrections to documents that either her or the opposing counsel were responsible for. Use a mediator and settle your differences for $500 or so without a lawyer. Don't hire Peggy Bittick.

Your chld and your families worst nightmare.

I recently used this attorney and wow was I surprised. She is way to expensive and over priced. She took that retaining fee and did nothing except charge for every little thing. One night we called her about 10 times because the ex had taken the child and we were very worried because peggy had told u...s that she had taken care of everything, ha. man was i in for a surprise. She did nothing but charge us for 15 min for every call when she never even answered and every e-mail we sent out. But she did call us back, it was at 10:30 that night. Please read ther reviews because what these people are saying is very true. She will take your money and run. I spoke with other attorneys to see if peggy was doing me right and they looked at the paperwork and laughed. Please do your homework on this woman

Please don't use her - you will waste time and money!

We hired Peggy as a family lawyer for our custody revision case that was disputed; so it was really a custody case. We hired her solely on the advice of someone that testified on a couple of her cases as an expert. Everything that the other reviews said (except the good one) is true. She promised ...us the world, said she would hit the case hard, get the amicus to do his job as soon as he was appointed, and get this case settled. Well, the only thing she did was waste our time and money. As soon as she was hired, we started noticing things were not being done, we wouldn't hear anything; we would have to ask questions because we weren't being kept abreast of any information. Also, she didn't realize in our court (Harris County, 310th) that she had to do certain procedures and the case got denied. So that set us back 2 months! Then, we really started not getting any responses - but we were SURE being billed for every e-mail and phone call we made to see if she was actually doing her job. When we finally started looking at getting a new lawyer, we found these reviews and we knew we had to fire her. She is terrible as a lawyer and a professional as well. We lost $2300 of retainer because we had to get someone else - please don't go to her. Some of our lessons learned were 1) READ THE REVIEWS & write them for others to get the benefit of your experience 2) Make sure your lawyer is practicing in just one type of law practice - Peggy practices in all kinds (Jack of all trades, master of NONE) 3) Make sure they are board-certified in the type of case you need 4) If possible, especially in a family law case, make sure they are familiar with your district and get one in your area 5) looking back (lessons learned), people that recommend lawyers must know not only how a person performs in court, but how they perform behind the scenes to get the case ready and heard.

This lawyer was disciplined by a state licensing authority in 2008.

Public Reprimand issued in TX, 2008

updated on 06/14/2011

Public reprimand means an attorney did something wrong but may still practice law. The State gives the lawyer a public reprimand in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior. Details of the infraction are made part of the public record.

Peggy’s comment:

“A Texas Lotto winner gifted me the balance of his retainer which was a large sum of money in a case where I obtained for him custody of his son and terminated his high child support obligation. After confirming the gift, I accepted it partly but I carried it as a credit for him, in case he needed future legal work. Years later, he wanted his money back. After obtaining advice from peers and others I respect, I fought the grievance. For more information, please contact PSB directly: 2814853500.”
