Speeding Violation

Scott Markowitz addressed my wife's speeding violation and the inadvertent driving on the wrong side of the road with superb aplomb! He delivered precisely as he promised, and more. He is very knowledgeable of our judicial court system, impact, and associated penalties and kept us continually infor...med of any postponements and processes. For an attorney, he is atypical, and clearly has his client's best interests in focus. He is honest, forthright, and will deliver as promised, qualities often lacking in these type environments. I would strongly recommend his services...you will not be dissappointed. Should circumstances warrant the need for a traffic attorney in the future, (let's hope not) I will not hesitate in utilizing his services again. My sincere thanks Scott.

Effective and Efficient

Scott's group has helped me win dismissals on three tickets over the past several years. Very professional, very efficient. I recommend his firm to my friends.

Trustworthy and tells you like it is.. I like a straight forward kind of lawyer and I will always use Scott

If I ever have any questions he has always taken the time to answer anything and everything I need to know about. He is very thorough and helped me get well prepared for what was to come in court. I enjoyed working with him and definitely will use him in the future if need be. I enjoyed having smooth... transactions with him and being reminded of my court dates via phone calls.

First Houston traffic ticket - dismissal

Received my first traffic ticket in the COH. Knew going in my options were defensive driving or deferred disposition and most likely I would chose either of those options. But, I wanted to see how the system worked and hoped the officer would not show. Very surprised to find out that at least 85-9...0% of defendants were represented by attorneys. The bailiff quickly separated those with and with out attorneys. Judge arrived & took roll. Attorney representatives were taking their own roll calls as well. Officers came and went signing in. DA arrived. Judge began to dismiss cases if officers were not present. For all those who were not represented with attorneys their cases seemed to be called first. In the interim, attorney representatives called defendants to discuss their cases. I was informed the officer who issued my ticket had signed in and most likely the ticket would not be dismissed. I told Scott's representative that I would like to fight the ticket and I was okay with scheduling a trial date. All parties seemed to want to clear their dockets as quickly as possible. Either by negotiating, accepting DD or deferred disposition or dismissal. The DA and Scott's representative never discussed my case between themselves. At 11:30 the judge called me to the bench and advised he was dismissing my case as the officer did not appear. I know the officer was in the building but not in this particular courtroom. I can only assume the judge wanted to clear as many cases as he could before he took his lunch break. I was the last one called to the bench before his break. I waited for my dismissal paperwork and headed back to work. Not the way you want to spend every morning, but I would hire Markowitz again. Time and patience are definitely required. Bring a book.

Not all of our courts require as much time and patience as the Houston Municipal Court to which this client speaks. However, he is absolutely right on point! When you come to court you cannot be in a hurry to get out because that weakens your position and strengthens your opponent's.
