I failed to appear on my court date, for that they were useful and represented me on my behalf (like a lawyer is supposed to do). However, when I took a day off of work to pay my court fee that was a deal 'supposedly' cut by the lawyers. When I showed up to the courthouse, the court had no knowled...ge of any 'deal'-just a court reset date. Markowitz office could not fax or confirm any deal was made. I was left holding the bag. Markowitz receptionist told me maybe I would get a call back from the lawyer. Markowitz receptionist asked to speak with court clerk on the phone. Had her on speaker phone, she literally asked the court clerk "What do you recommend?" All the clerks in the court were laughing...clueless. Turned out the 'deal' the laywer made was a standard deal they had on a pre-printed form for anyone who walked in court with no representation. I finally got a call back at 7pm, very defensive, refused any refund (I didn't even ask for one), said court clerks in Galveston Precinct 2 were liars and that what they told me was bull sh*t. Lesson learned go yourself figure out the offer by the court before buying third rate representation. Overall this is a cheap price to pay to learn which law firm to avoid on any future matters for myself or any family or friends. You were WARNED....STAY AWAY...

I missed my court date for a traffic ticket "open beer and no turn signal" 600$ fine Warrant was issued Paid him 800$ My lawyer was late about 3 hours, walked to prosecutor did a little whisper in his ear "he was not Scott Markowitz" I had to pay all of my court cost and ticket, walked away with... deferred adjudication for a 1 year. I asked the guy "What did i pay for?" and he told me "You paid us to represent you..." And who should i rate anyway on this review?

I have been involved in accident and was at fault, made a wrong turn. Our family just arrived to country and we still were carrying non-US driver license. At the time of an accident officer refused to check if my license was a valid one and I have received - no driver's license ticket in addition to ...first ticket. We choose Scott pretty much based on reviews from Google and AVVO. I'm not the person making decisions based on web-site reviews, but in that particular situation, when we just arrived to US, I decided to hire Scott. That was a right decision... We had a trial several days ago and spent not much that 45 min in court only to hear that both of our cases have been dismissed! Thanks to Scott and his team!

Scott is very knowledgeable in traffic tickets. I haven't had many tickets in the past but this time I was going an alleged 102 in a 65mph zone. Now I've done some research in this area and defensive driving is not an option over 25mph and also deferred adjudication is not an option for such flagrant... speeding. However, just a short call and email to Scott and everything was taken care of! I didn't even have to appear in court! Scott handled everything for me and it was so simple! He managed to get me deferred adjudication and I couldn't be happier! His staff was friendly and handled everything with the utmost care and professionalism! Safe to say I've learned my lesson for speeding but if another issue like this arises...I will most definitely call Scott! Thank you so much!
