I began my legal career as a paralegal in 1999 by handling all aspects of the family and estate planning and probate practice for my boss, mentor and friend, Corwin B. Reed. During my years as a paralegal, I came to learn the importance of compassion and communication in dealing with clients and their legal problems. I was blessed to have a very patient and kind mentor who taught her to provide legal services with excellence.

I received my undergraduate degree from the University of New Orleans where I graduated cum laude while working and raising my boys. I then attended Loyola - School of Law where I graduated with a juris doctor. Further, I proudly served in the U.S. Navy both in active duty and as a reservist.

In 2010, I opened my law firm, Billings Law, in Humble, Texas. In 2022, after my divorce, I decided to return to my maiden name, Garcia, and rebranded my law office to Garcia Family Law. Family law has and is my passion. I get an immense satisfaction in helping my clients transition from their relationships. Now that I have been through my own divorce, I truly understand what my clients go through.

I'd give far more stars than 5 if I could...

Almost 3 years post divorce, I was thinking this morning about how blessed I am that I retained Patricia and her team in 2018. They were able to assist me with my divorce in attaining full custody of my son. I was extremely pleased with the outcome especially since I am the father and I know that doesn't happen often in Texas. I hope to not need a divorce attorney ever again, however if I do, I wouldn't hesitate to use this firm again.

Great Lawyer

Patricia was asked to join my legal team in regards to a Protective and Restraining Order against me, not allowing me to see my children. Best choice I made

When I first met Patricia, I was on the fence go through the divorce or not. Let me tell you, all the extremely personal details of my life came pouring out of me in a mess, I felt flustered, overwhelmed and helpless. Patricia gave me the factual information and guidance to help me make ultimate decisions for myself. She is fair and she is not playing games like my ex-husband’s attorney seemed to be. That opposing counsel blamed a spam blocker for lost emails and left many messages/phone calls unanswered delaying the proceedings out as long as possible. Patricia Billings is completely professional and her office is responsive making her perform like a rock-star. At every moment, I felt that she was in my corner, fighting for my rights and keeping in touch with me and my daughter through it all. These life-changing decisions should not be taken lightly and what I thought would be super easy and amiable ended up a terrible fight with disagreements at every step. I admire this woman that has the agility to be kind and well respected in court and then fierce and ready to fight when she has to be firm. I certainly recommend her to anyone that has the misfortune to need one for a divorce.

Divorce and custody of my child

Temporary Custody of my child

Mrs. Patricia goes to the facts. Very calm got what the client needs. We still working on this process but I am very confident. Best decision that changed our lives!

Our lives changed when my husband and I learned that we were candidates to adopt a baby! We didn’t hesitate to call Patricia immediately. If I had used Ms. Billings during my divorce I would not have had to fight for a modification two years later. Just what I needed! Honest and tough

Patricia Billings represented me in a modification of child custody agreement through a nasty divorce. I wasn’t happy with my current lawyer and got a recommendation for her and I’m so glad I did! She was honest and fair and gave me the truth and ultimately got me exactly what I wanted in court. Wonderful firm at a harsh time

Ms Billings and her staff are top notch. They are extremely responsive to both emails and phone calls and dedicated to their clients. They took the time to ensure all details for my divorce were carefully looked over and i got the outcome that i wanted. A-team

Patricia and her team were able to do what other lawyers couldn’t. My children’s other parent backed me into a corner with false allegations, harassment and even manipulating our children. She almost got away with it, but i hired Patricia. I had years of documentation but other lawyers didn’t know how to use it. Patricia is brilliant she understood the issues and immediately had a plan. She put all the pieces in place and presented it flawlessly in mediation My ex could not keep up the facade, the opposing council urged my ex to take what i was offering bc it was obvious oc was no match to Patricia. Patricia is very well respected and feared, she is quick with the shutdowns of anything OC wanted to bring up. I was given the most important thing to me which was primary custody IN MEDIATION! This saved me THOUSANDS of dollars not having to go to court. I know it was Patricias creative intellect with the strength of her team. Her team is courteous, quick to respond, smart, and knowledgeable in a wide variety of miscellaneous issues like autism and other extra curricular activities and issues that arise in day to day parenting. Excellent Service

Mrs. Patricia was extremely efficient, professional and effective throughout the entire process. I was referred to Patricia thru a friend. Patricia helped me with a child-support case; she and her team walked me thru the process with details, very helpful, always available and to the point! Honest and Direct

My case started with a different attorney in a different county, but my ex was able to get the case transferred, leaving me scrambling to find an attorney in a county over 2 hours away. Mrs. Billings was suggested to me by an attorney where I live and I was very glad I listened. I really appreciated Mrs. Billings directness with me, she told me exactly where I stood and how she believed the case would go (both good and bad). She and her staff were great about communicating, if I sent an email it was always replied to by the next day (quite often within the hour) and with the information I asked for. My case was taken to mediation, largely because of the difficulty of dealing with opposition, and in mediation she was willing to let me speak but also would protect me from myself if I was going to put myself in a bad place. Throughout the entire mediation Mrs. Billings was making sure that I was comfortable with what happened and fought for me to get the best resolution possible while not blocking positive progress in negotiations. I would gladly use Mrs. Billings again and would highly recommend her to anyone needing representation for a divorce!

Phenomenal Lawyer and Team

I found Mrs. Billings and her team through recommendations by a member of our church. At the time I was going through a nasty divorce and custody battle. Mrs. Billings and her staff came into the picture 6 months after I had already been with another lawyer. They did a wonderful job of fixing what my previous representation had messed up. They worked countless hours (day and night) to help me and my daughter. They are all beyond friendly, they are quick to respond to any questions I, or my parents, had in terms of our ongoing litigation, and ultimately won my case and custody.
