Very Disappointed

With power of Attorney from our son we retained the services of Susan Ashley to represent him at his 2nd parole hearing. The reviews do not reflect our experience. We thought we had found a great attorney based on her reviews. She is twice as expensive than all the others that we spoke to with a prom...ise that she will do more. After you pay her upfront you will be lucky to hear directly from Susan as we were always directed to Susan's assistant Grace when we would call with questions or updates. After Susan's assistant did a one time initial visit to the prison to interview our son we nor our son ever received any updates including notifications of a parole hearing date. We never received any copies of any written information that she performed on our sons behalf nor did my son. We had to call her office many times just to see if he had a scheduled parole hearing date and would reach Grace. We left many messages with Grace that we wanted to speak with Susan bout her procedures at the parole hearing and if she would call us after ours sons parole hearing to give us an update. During one of the calls to find out if a parole hearing was scheduled we found out there was a scheduled hearing from Grace and that Susan had cancelled it and rescheduled it for a later date. None of which was discussed with us or our son prior to us making the call to her office. Finally Grace received a answer from Susan that yes she would call after the hearing. Susan did finally call after the hearing but only told us our son received great representation from her and that the information that we had provided her for her parole packet she felt was very helpful in her presentation. We waited almost 3weeks to get the outcome we finally had to call the parole office ourselves to find out if he made parole, no follow up from her office after many left messages to Grace and one conversation with Grace who said she did not want to call the parole board because she was concerned how the parole board would react to her calling. The outcome was very disappointing as it was parole with a 6 month program. We then called Susan's office once we found out what our son received to understand what it meant. Apparently I had a number that rang directly to Susan's office and she answered the phone, told me she was very busy with another client in her office that she could not speak to me. I tried to explain that what we found out and her response was "oh good he made parole". I said yes but not what we hoped for and asked about the program her response was I am busy you need to call and speak to Grace. We called Grace and she explained the program the best she could. Grace also said that as a part of their services they would work to help our son be transferred as soon as possible so he could begin the program. He waited over a month to be transferred to begin the program. We called to ask for help and she never returned our call. We finally had to call the Ombudsman program and he was transferred with in 2 days. We sent Susan a registered letter requesting copies of what she submitted to the parole board like the parole packet and Susan has yet to respond!! Don't waste your money the less expensive parole attorney we understand does more and offers much better communication and results.

** BEST PAROLE ATTORNEY** Son Paroled Thanks to Susan Ashley

We found Susan Ashley after doing an extensive online search for a parole attorney for our son after a terrible experience with another attorney. Susan returned our call that same evening (after 6pm) after leaving a message with her office. Susan explained step by step how the parole process works f...rom the time we hired her to when the parole board made its decision. She called us on a regular basis to inform us of the progress. As the date approached, Susan visited our son in person. She had the parole package and her plan for the parole board complete and explained to us and our son in detail how she was going to execute it. Susan asked that I (father) meet her the day of the parole board meeting in Austin and explained in detail how the parole board meeting would unfold. I was impressed that everything she said would happen went exactly as she stated. Susan executed her plan focusing on issues that she knew the parole board would be interested in to get the best results. We got an approved vote in 2 days. Our son was granted parole on a 6 years sentence after serving 1½ years. We can’t thank Susan and her team enough for the outstanding job they did. We couldn’t be happier with the choice we made by choosing Susan as our sons parole attorney. We highly recommend her.

Outstanding parole lawyer

After doing a lot of research, I hired Susan Ashley. My husband was sentenced 10 years to TDCJ, after 4 previous parole denials we felt like a lawyer was are only chance. Susan and her paralegal, Grace took time with me, gave me a lot of information and feedback. Answering all my questions and phone ...calls, keeping me informed. Susan went to the unit to visit and interview him. She presented his case on September 12th and we got the answer the very same day. His parole is approved with the completion of a program. He will be home soon. I truly feel like he would have gotten another denial if it hadn't been for Susan. I highly recommend her... hire her!!

My husband got an FI-1 .... he’s coming home soon!

We hired Susan Ashley in April 2019- my husband went to prison March 28 2019. He had a complicated case and after speaking with the assistant Grace- she felt his story needed to be told. He got 6 yrs for dwi 3 or more. Mrs. Ashley spoke with him and got his story and then did a phone hearing and exp...lained the mishaps of the case. They did an amazing job!

Parole- Amarillo Board

I am a truck accident attorney in Houston, Texas. My younger Brother got into a little bit of trouble and was sentenced for intoxicated manslaughter, assault, etc. in Abilene, Texas; 40 years. A couple of years in, my family hired Susan to help get my Brother out. Susan visited my Brother in Abilene... many times and went out of her way to keep the family informed. As you may know, Abilene belongs to the Amarillo parole board- known to be the harshest parole board in Texas. Yet, Susan succeeded and now my Younger Brother will be out in September! We cannot be more grateful for Susan. Thank you.

"I strongly endorse Attorney Susan Ashley. I am familiar with the outstanding work that she has done over the thirty years that I have known her. I have referred her cases and I have handled cases with her. I personally watched Ms. Ashley pick a jury and try an intoxicated manslaughter case to a jury and get probation from a jury on the case. I also watched Ms. Ashley handle a parole revocation hearing and get a finding of no probable cause. She has skillfully handled some large drug cases that I referred to her. When I refer Susan Ashley a case I know that she will do a great job and that the client will really be very pleased with her representation."
