Originally from San Antonio, Texas and Lexington, Missouri, Ruby Lichte Powers received her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas and her law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
Highlights of her travels include a year as a Rotary high-school-exchange student to Belgium; a semester in Cuernavaca, Mexico; two months in Turkey, her husband’s country of birth; and a year in Barcelona as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. Promoting Rotary's community service programs and projects, Ruby has spoken to Rotary clubs and audiences in seven countries, seven states, and three languages.
She has interned for a U.S. Senator twice and worked for the Committee on Homeland Security for the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington, D.C. Her immigration experience includes clerkships and full-time positions at various firms and non-profits in Texas. She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and various other professional organizations in her community.
She is fluent in Spanish and proficient in French. Ruby is also a dual-citizen (Mexican and American).
With a passion for service and justice coupled with multi-cultural understanding and an interest for immigrants, Powers dedicates her law practice 100% to immigration law.
