I am a client-centered estate planning attorney committed to helping busy families create wills, trusts, and estate plans that reflect their goals and values, protect their families, preserve their wealth, and safeguard their legacies.
Having raised a family while managing a career, I understand how overwhelming life can be. Between work, family responsibilities, and children's activities, it’s easy to put off important tasks—like making sure loved ones are protected in the event of incapacity or death. Many parents I meet have not prepared a will or legally named a guardian for their minor children. Some find it difficult to think about such an emotional topic, while others assume they don’t have an “estate” worth planning or that their families will naturally step in if needed.
As both a mother and an attorney, I understand the unique legal needs of families. Estate planning is not just for the wealthy; every parent needs a plan to ensure their wishes are followed and their children are protected. And I find great professional and personal satisfaction in helping parents gain peace of mind by creating estate plans that align with their values and priorities.
For more than 15 years, I have worked with clients virtually, making estate planning more convenient and accessible. My fully remote practice allows families to complete the process on their schedule without the need for in-person meetings. By maintaining a web-based firm, I can keep my overhead low and provide high-quality legal services at reasonable rates.
I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University, in Waco, Texas. This was followed by a law degree from South Texas College of Law Houston, where I graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, I was selected as a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity, and the Order of the Lytae, an honorary fraternity that recognizes outstanding academic achievement. I have been licensed to practice law in Texas since 1994, and in North Carolina since 2020.

I was so lucky to find Rania on line even though I had my reservations about working this way with matters that required an attorney. My experience was exceptional. Rania not only prepared a new will and accompanying documents for me, but she "held my hand" throughout the process, patiently answerin...

We knew we definitely needed to update our wills and powers of attorney, so we sought out recommendations from various professionals. The first one we checked out gave us a quote that really took us by surprise. It wasn't that we were looking for a "cheap" deal, but this quote was out of our league. ...

Rania is a wonderful person to work with. She was able to help me problem solve through some complicated estate planning issues on behalf of my elderly father in the Phillipines. Having an on line attorney was essential considering that my dad’s condo property was located in. Dallas,Tx and I live...
"I've had the pleasure of knowing Rania for several years, both through social media and through professional associations. I've come to trust her knowledge and experience and truly appreciate her desire to not just help her clients families have a solid estate plan, but to make sure that plan is an individual reflection of each family."
"I endorse this lawyer. I consider Rania to be of the highest moral character and superior intellect. She is supremely diligent. I would not and have not hesitated in referring clients, including family members to Rania!"
"I am a practicing lawyer in Washington D.C. and author of a national blog on solo and small firm practice. I have known Rania Combs through various online communities for close to five years. I am so impressed with how Rania has leveraged technology to humanize her practice and increase contacts with clients while keeping her rates affordable. However, Rania does not cut corners on substance - her blog is a source of solid information on the law of estate planning, and one which I enjoy reading though I have a different practice area. Based on Rania's body of work online, it is clear that she is both intelligent and detail-oriented and most of all, has a love for the work that she does. I endorse her, and would refer clients to her without hesitation."
"I have come to know Rania professionally over the past four years or so. It is my pleasure to recommend her unique services as I am confident that she is deeply committed to providing her clients the highest quality legal advice by means of an easy, comfortable experience."
"Rania is a pioneer of the virtual law office! She is relentless in her quest for learning and extremely detail oriented. Her ethics are of the highest caliber. I strongly endorse Rania Combs."
"I have worked with Rania over the past three years as she has developed her virtual law practice to serve estate planning clients online. I have been impressed with her innovative spirit and her ability to adopt technology that allows her to provide efficient, quality services. She clearly enjoys working with her clients and cares about providing them with the peace of mind that they need through her estate planning work."
"I have known Rania for many years, and appreciate her advice, her friendship, and her caring manner of working with clients and fellow professionals. Rania is on my top 10 list!"
"I first got to know Rania several years ago when I read and shared one of her excellent estate planning blog posts. After she graciously thanked me almost immediately, we have remained in contact ever since. Her fresh, modern approach to helping clients is exemplified in her virtual (i.e. online) estate planning practice, which happens to be one of the top firms using this format in the nation. Ironically, her success online does not seem to come from an over-reliance on the technology itself; instead, her emphasis on good old-fashioned hard work, knowledge and a genuine concern towards creating the best plan for every client is what makes her such a strong advocate and a delightful colleague and friend. I enthusiastically endorse Rania."
"Attorney Rania Combs is a fellow attorney in the community as well as my personal estate planning attorney. She genuinely cares about her clients and will ask about your family even after finishing the case. An added bonus is that she leverages technology to make her services accessible to many clients. I endorse this lawyer."
