Stephanie J. Proffitt

Stephanie is hands down the best family lawyer in the Houston area. She is incredible. She is very knowledgeable, attentive to details, and an absolute incredible litigator in the courtroom. Stephanie's years of experience is highlighted in her skillful questioning on the stand and presence in ...the court. Stephanie can be hard to reach at times but was always responsive to urgent issues that needed immediate resolution. Stephanie is able to filter the urgent issues and petty/non-urgent matters. Remember, your lawyer is not your therapist. I cannot recommend Stephanie enough to anyone going through a high conflict divorce or family law issue.

I have been using Stephanie and her office for years. She has been there for me through the hardest time in our lives. They have been very responsive, and have made this entire messy process MUCH easier. Stefanie has a massive reputation, and is a bull dog in court. I fired my other lawyer because I ...saw how AWESOME she was in court. I am the type of client that will send multiple messages, call borderline obsessively at times, and they have NEVER made me feel like a burden. I have called in a panic over things the other side was doing, and they always made sure to put me at ease. I have dealt with lawyers in criminal court, civil court, and family court. One thing EVERYONE needs to realize, is that law offices and lawyers are VERY over worked. Their job is VERY stressful. If you do not get a response quick enough, send them a gentle reminder.

I've known Stephanie professionally for years. I hired her recently to represent me in my divorce with full blown custody and complex property issues and it's as nasty and bitter as your worst nightmare can imagine - which is no surprise given that I'm a family law paralegal getting divorced from a f...amily law attorney. I wanted to hire her at the beginning of my divorce, but was not able to right away. Boy, do I wish I'd been able to hire her right off the bat. Stephanie has truly saved my life and my sanity. Although, we haven't gone to trial yet, I can already tell (both from a personal and professional standpoint), how well she has taken the case in hand. Stephanie cares. She's busy and sometimes not as easy to reach as I would like, but that's because she's such a rockstar and in high demand. That, and I readily admit, I'm kinda pushy as a client because of my profession. :) All kidding aside, Stephanie is exceedingly talented and truly my hero.
