As a member of the Armed Forces and going on reserve duty, my pay was dramatically cut. I do not know much about child support and how to adjust payments for child support, and what to do when these changes occur. I wanted to avoid any problems with the TX AGs office. Mr. Barina was kind enough t...o visit with me briefly and explain what was happening and what I could expect from the AGs office. He was very helpful and informative about my situation. Although, he did not live in the same county as me, I would highly recommend him to anyone in the Kileen TX area. I believe in reviewing a service provider whether they worked exceptionally or didn't perform to my expectations. This review is long overdue but here goes. I Modified my child support at the end of 2013. Mr. Barina showed up in court prompt, clean, cut and on time. He was extremely knowledgeable an...d experienced in the field of family. I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Sawyer his paralegal at the time she did an awesome job. At court Mr. Barina is like floyd may weather in the ring. It becomes apparent that this man lives eats and sleeps in court. The modification was quite complicated because he changed the order so that I could pay the house that my ex lived at as the child support opposed to sending her a check AND on top of that paying the house that she lived at. What made matters more complicated was that the judge did not want to buy it. He had actually changed the date so that we would have to come back to court 2 weeks later. It was very hard for me to hear that from the judge, since I would have to travel all the way home 800 miles and then back in 2 weeks. However Mr. Barina convinced me to call my ex so that he could explain the situation to her and highlight the benefits that it entailed. So my ex came into court Mr. Barina explained to her the order and the benefits thereof for all parties involved. He waltzed into the court room and spoke with the judge so that I wouldn't have to return in 2 weeks (especially since I was low on cash). My ex signed the paperwork. Voila nightmare over! I was a client of Mr. Barina in 2014. I retained him to assist with my divorce. All the documents required to help finalize my divorce (such as documents in order to remove my name from title of house) were not completed, I have yet to receive any documentation. I called a few months ago to ask about... the forms when I realized I did not receive them, and was told I would have to pay for that to be completed. My name was spelled incorrectly in my name change for the divorce, and I was generally unhappy with the process. Mr. Barina did not attend my final hearing, instead sent an associate attorney, whom I had never met, and I was not informed this would be the case. The attorney sent in his place was late to court. Phone calls and emails were never returned, and the office staff was extremely rude. I am now in the process of attempting to return to court to modify agreements for my custody and child support orders, roughly a year after my case was finalized.

I used Mr. Barina as my attorney in a child custody case earlier this year. He did a good job of letting me know what needed to be done to get the child support adjusted for my son. His staff was extremely helpful when Mr. Barina was otherwise indisposed, and they knew what was going on everytime I a...sked.
