With the fall of Saigon, the capitol of South Vietnam, the North Vietnamese forces moved in to capture the city. At almost eighteen months old, I was fleeing my native born country along with tens of thousands of other South Vietnamese refugees in April of 1975. My American father was not going to leave me or my Vietnamese mother behind. We were quickly moved onto a military cargo plane with nothing more than the clothes on our backs, as the mass exodus began, and as the Vietnam War came to an end with the institution of the communist regime.
I look back over 40 years ago, and realize that every moment of my life was not by accident but by fate. I am truly fortunate to have made it out of that war-torn country to be where I am today. In elementary school I had to take ESL classes (English as a Second Language), since Vietnamese was all I knew. Unfortunately, as I progressed through my schooling, I lost the ability to speak but I can understand most conversational Vietnamese.
After graduating from high school in Houston, I went on to Texas A&M University at College Station to get my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Rhetoric. I didn’t really know that I wanted to be an attorney until realizing three years in that I would make a terrible veterinarian. I attended law school at Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, graduating early, and became licensed to practice law in the great State of Texas in May 2000.
I began my practice in the area of Workers’ Compensation with The Law Firm of Adam Henderson in Houston. After about four years, we decided to expand our practice into the Dallas-Fort Worth Area, and I opened our DFW location as The Law Office of Henderson & Kroenung. In 2008, we made a mutual business decision, and I moved on to become The Wyatt Law Firm and continued my practice strictly focusing on Workers’ Compensation.
Somewhere between Texas A&M and my managing my own firm in 2008, I was blessed with six lovely children, five boys and one little girl. Being a mom is who I am, and being an attorney is what I do.
A fortuitous meeting with Phillip Galyen in late 2013 led me to Bailey & Galyen, where I now manage the Workers’ Compensation Department in the Arlington location.

Devastated
Kim has represented me for 14 months in my worker’s comp case. I ruined my shoulder at work and went through painful test, horrible physical therapy that was a joke. Only to go to trial and lose. Kim, and all the assisting attorneys failed me with being unprepared and not having all our evidence in l...
Its understandable to be angry at the results of a Judge's decision and how that decision affects your life and livelihood. We took your case when it was 100% denied, when you weren't able to find another attorney to help you, and we WON. As time went on, as with a lot of WC cases, the insurance disputed the seriousness of your injuries and your checks stopped. Once again, we took up the case and argued that the more severe conditions were related, we were able to get multiple providers to write a letter of causation to support the severity of your injuries, we were able to secure an alternate impairment rating to support your case. You would have never have been able to get these things without our assistance, and assuring the providers that we were fighting this for you. The state appointed doctor (designated doctor) went completely against you indicating that these severe conditions were pre-existing and not related, and that you had a zero (0%) rating. Not getting paid, treatment getting denied....we still pursued your case to argue that your injuries, ALL your injuries should be included. We stopped getting paid the moment that your checks stopped since we don't get paid unless you get paid, yet we spent the next 6 months arguing your case and finally concluding with a Judge that decided the DD was correct in his findings, and ruled against us. To say that we financially ruined you? Your checks stopped long before we made it to the Judge, yet we continued to assist you. Attorneys don't usually work for free, but we did...to help YOU. Me being rude, was to ask you both to be on the phone when we provided you updates (you and your wife). After 2-3 times, I could not provide you a lengthy explanation just to have you say "can you now explain all that you said to my wife?" Me asking you to both be available moving forward to discuss your case is not being rude. Me providing detailed explanations as to what the law says, or what a report means, no matter how much you disagreed with the facts, is not being rude. I prefer to be honest, and lay things out completely without any spin, so that you understand. I am truly sorry that the Judge did not rule in your favor, and you MUST understand that I have no control over your case's outcome. If I did, everyone would win. Tying a financial gain to your case, and how we ruined you and left you penniless? You received a significant amount and the same quality of representation as a person that was actually paying me...for free. Again, I am terribly sorry that your case did not result in the way we wanted and hoped it would. I will continue to try my best to assist injured workers in navigating this WC system and provide a superior level of advocacy to the best of me and my teams abilities.
