Our LLC was named in error in a wrongful death suit and we had 20 days to file a response with the court. Our initial attorney was not responding to calls or emails, and when he finally did after two weeks - he actually laughed and said not to worry about responding that we were just overreacting, ...not to do anything that the Plaintiffs lawyer would take care of it. Really??? We researched on our own and believed that if we did not file a response timely we could stand to lose all of our assets by default judgment. We were approaching a holiday weekend, with only 7 days remaining to respond to the court. We contacted a family friend to see if he knew an attorney that we could get a second opinion from quickly.
