Mr. Tkach grew up in Oklahoma City, where he graduated from high school in 1981. He continued his education at the University of Oklahoma, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in finance. After working for a few years, Mr. Tkach started law school at Oklahoma City University School of Law. After completing his first year, he transferred to Southern Methodist University School of Law, where he earned the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1992.
Mr. Tkach began his legal career at a small litigation law firm in Dallas, Texas. Less than a year later, he accepted a position with a large regional law firm in Dallas, where he remained for seven years. At that time, Mr. Tkach’s law practice focused primarily on commercial litigation and insurance defense cases, including medical malpractice, car wrecks, and asbestos cases. During that time, Mr. Tkach honed his litigation and trial skills and gained insight into how insurance companies defend car wreck and other personal injury cases. More importantly, he learned the circumstances causing insurance companies to pay more money to settle injury cases.
In 1999, Mr. Tkach started The Law Office of Todd E. Tkach, P.C. With a drive for success, and a passion for representing those who have been injured by the negligence of others, Mr. Tkach quickly established a successful personal injury trial practice throughout North Texas. Mr. Tkach has represented hundreds of people who have been injured as a result of the negligence of others. The types of cases include car wrecks, 18-Wheeler accidents, motorcycle accidents, construction site injuries, workplace accidents, defective premises, products liability, medical malpractice, and wrongful death. With the success he achieved with personal injury cases, and at the request of his loyal clients, Mr. Tkach expanded his law practice to include criminal defense, including all felonies, misdemeanors and traffic citations.
Mr. Tkach is licensed by the Texas Supreme Court to practice law in any Texas State Court, including all Municipal Courts, County Courts, County Courts at Law, Courts of Appeal, The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court. He has also been admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and the United States 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Tkach is also a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association.

Great work!
Thank you for working with the prosecutor! I was prepared to pay a fine but my representative worked to get the charges dismissed! Never again would I allow my license to be at risk for questionable people or questionable work

Tkach saved my Driver’s License
If it wasn’t for Todd Tkach’s expertise and in-court representation, my driver’s license would have been revoked. Todd delivered the best possible outcome for my case. Todd knew exactly what to say to the judge. Todd’s representation made all of the difference

Did nothing I could not have done
The only thing they were confident in was collecting the fee up front after that it seems like they never listen to a word I said can't remember the name of the attorney that actually call the public defender in Duncanville I could have done that I wanted a defense all I got was a plea bargain that I...
David, I'm sorry that you were not satisfied with our representation. As you know, you have a commercial driver's license, and therefore, the prosecutor would not offer anything "off record." However, we had other options that we spoke with you about on 08/07/2020. After discussing all options, you chose NOT to take your case to trial and you agreed to accept the offer from the prosecutor. I'm confused as to why you would agree to accept a plea offer that you did not want. If you did not want the plea offer, we could have taken your case to trial, but you refused to do so. We cannot help you achieve a better result if you refuse to move forward with your case. As always, we remain available to discuss this case with you.

Bad Service, Misleading, False Assurance
Went into the office with a traffic citation I'd forgotten about that had become a warrant. I was charged $75 and THEN told it would take ~3 DAYS to clear the warrant! They already charged me (non refundable) so I had little choice but to sweat it out. I called 3 days later to verify the warrant ...
