Mr. Tkach grew up in Oklahoma City, where he graduated from high school in 1981. He continued his education at the University of Oklahoma, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in finance. After working for a few years, Mr. Tkach started law school at Oklahoma City University School of Law. After completing his first year, he transferred to Southern Methodist University School of Law, where he earned the degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1992.
Mr. Tkach began his legal career at a small litigation law firm in Dallas, Texas. Less than a year later, he accepted a position with a large regional law firm in Dallas, where he remained for seven years. At that time, Mr. Tkach’s law practice focused primarily on commercial litigation and insurance defense cases, including medical malpractice, car wrecks, and asbestos cases. During that time, Mr. Tkach honed his litigation and trial skills and gained insight into how insurance companies defend car wreck and other personal injury cases. More importantly, he learned the circumstances causing insurance companies to pay more money to settle injury cases.
In 1999, Mr. Tkach started The Law Office of Todd E. Tkach, P.C. With a drive for success, and a passion for representing those who have been injured by the negligence of others, Mr. Tkach quickly established a successful personal injury trial practice throughout North Texas. Mr. Tkach has represented hundreds of people who have been injured as a result of the negligence of others. The types of cases include car wrecks, 18-Wheeler accidents, motorcycle accidents, construction site injuries, workplace accidents, defective premises, products liability, medical malpractice, and wrongful death. With the success he achieved with personal injury cases, and at the request of his loyal clients, Mr. Tkach expanded his law practice to include criminal defense, including all felonies, misdemeanors and traffic citations.
Mr. Tkach is licensed by the Texas Supreme Court to practice law in any Texas State Court, including all Municipal Courts, County Courts, County Courts at Law, Courts of Appeal, The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and the Texas Supreme Court. He has also been admitted to practice law in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and the United States 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Tkach is also a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association.

DO NOT HIRE! Please save yourself the trouble. The entire firm has no interest in helping you in any way, shape, or form. Their only concern is getting more money from you, and when they can't, they will drop your case and leave you in a worse situation than when you started. I should have just paid ...

Self representation is better than hiring this lawyer
DO NOT HIRE THIS LAWYER. I hired them to fight my case and not only did they not fight my case, I now have additional legal fees and have submitted a complaint to the State Bar. Save yourself the headache and use anybody else. Self representation would do you better than hiring this lawyer.

I hired this firm in March 2023 after getting a ticket in Buckholtz. I had dashcam footage that proved the officer had his lights on to pull me over about 50 yards before the speed limit sign. The receptionist assured me that it would be dropped. I paid the fee and didn't hear one thing from this fir...

Ryan, I'm very sorry that you could not understand us and had a false understanding of the status of your case. You claimed that you had an outstanding warrant for the citation for which we are representing you. That was false and you know that was false! You participated in the Zoom hearing with me and the prosecutor, who informed you that your case was NEVER in warrant. We have no idea where you got such an outlandish idea. I withdrew from representing you and refunded ALL of your money because it was clear that we could not communicate.
