I am a trial lawyer, with over 14 years of experience, mostly as a prosecutor in Brooklyn, New York and Dallas, Texas.  I have prosecuted every type of criminal case imaginable:  from Prostitution to Sodomy and Rape; from DWI to Intoxication Manslaughter; from Possession of Controlled Substances to Manufacture and Delivery Greater than 400 Grams; from Assault Family Violence to Murder.

 

In February 2016, after much consideration, I decided to turn in the badge that I had carried for nearly 6 years as a Dallas County Assistant District Attorney, and join my wife and partner, Monica Smith, in private practice.

 

I bring the same passion for Justice, that fueled me as a young prosecutor, to the table as an experienced attorney who now defends the rights of the accused.  Put my training and experience to work for you.

Professional and Understanding
Terrance was recommended to me by a friend, and honestly the best recommendation. Terrance and his firm were diligent, understanding and helpful. Not only was Terrance understanding about my case and what I was going through, he also showed empathy which made the process that much more bearable . Felony Dismissed
I was falsely accused of theft of 10000$ worth of construction equipment. I explained to Terrance what happened and immediately he replied in a very respectful manner and quickly began to try to get my case dismissed. He always answered the questions I had. And he would always ask me if I had any more questions for him so I would have as much information about my case as I needed. My case is now in the process of getting dismissed! I highly recommend Terrance for his great work and overall professionalism.

AA/DW DISMISSED
Mr. downs represented me on a AA/WD which is a felony that I was wrongly charged with in Texas. Upon reviewing and investigating my case. Mr. Downs was able to get my case dismissed. I would highly recommend Mr. Downs to anyone looking for legal representation when charged with a crime.

This man is the best lawyer
my son had several cases and he got them all dismissed, not only that he kepts informed all the way even sending him to immigration lawyer for consultation before trial. He went out of his way to ensure all bases was covered. I have told all my friends about him I would recommend him 1000% if you want an honest person who will not dig your eyes out with money he was upfront with cost and that was it we hav grown to love him Thank you very much for all you did for us

Best Lawyer Ever
i was arrested for 2 oz of marijuana ... Mr. Downs was able to get my case Dismissed with a drug counseling course along with no drug tests!!! I highly recommend him because he is an attorney that is passionate, honest , and fearless !!!!

Probation Violation
Mr. Downs represented me after being arrested for a F1 (drug charge) while on deffered probation. Probation officer asked me to turn myself into jail, and was luckily offered a $25,000 bond. After bonding out, combining my cases, and collecting the correct information to support my case. Terrance got my drug case dismissed. I am continued on probation with less than a year left. Terrance is AMAZING!!!!

Punctual, professional, and compassionate
I've had defense attorneys that kept me waiting in court for hours and hours just to reschedule the date without letting me know. To my last attorney, I could tell I was just another dollar sign instead of a scared kid who made bad decisions. My boyfriend just caught his first charge, and we are so unbelievably blessed to have found Terrence. He got my boyfriend the best deal possible and for a great price. We felt he genuinely cared for the future of our family, and he showed up to court on time!!! We will never do business with another attorney again.

Don’t Not Let Him Take your case
He doesn’t care of the wellbeing of the inmate I called multiple times over the past years no answer no text back if it’s not about a check you want hear or see this man when you do FINALLY get in contact with him he’s very rude and disrespectful hangs up in you face I don’t recommend him we need lawyers whose going to fight for us and get the best results possible not someone whose trying to put you in the hole and not even take the time to investigate case just sign cause he doesn’t want to do his job den why become an attorney why say you fighting for justice but putting black boys in jail for a crime he did not commit
