Louis Sung-Hoon Lim

I don’t ever write reviews but this one is worth writing. In April 2016, I walked into Louis Lim’s office. I explained to Louis I had been charged with Aggravated assault on a family or household member, Class D Felony, Terroristic threatening in the first degree, Class D Felony, Domestic battering i...n the third degree, Class A Misdemeanor, and Endangering the welfare of a minor in the third degree, Class B Misdemeanor in November 2015 by the mother of my son. I also told him I was arrested again on March 17, 2016 for violating the protection order. Louis said he would do everything he could to help me so I asked him to represent me. At the time, I was skeptical he could help me because I had already met with several attorneys, and they suggested the outcome looked bleak and I should take a deal. I remember telling one attorney I was innocent and he said “you go to trial, you will be convicted and go to prison”. But Louis really fought for me. On October 31, 2016, I went to court in Rogers, AR for violating the restraining order. I was looking up to a year in jail. I didn’t think I would be going home that day. Louis got me a diversion order for one year with a dismissal if I wasn’t arrested again during that time. I was shocked and happy for the time to go home. I knew I still had a felony case pending. The Benton County Prosecutor’s Office was aggressive and I was looking up to six years for each felony count. Last week on Friday Louis called to inform me he could get the prosecuting attorney to agree to a diversion order for one year with a dismissal if I wasn’t arrested again during that time. He said he would call me later that day around 6PM with an update. He called me right on time and started going over the language on the agreed order. I couldn’t really hear him because of background noise. I asked him where he was at. Louis apologized and said he was in the emergency room at the hospital because he had just been in a vehicle accident. WOW! This guy was probably laying on a stretcher and was making sure all the I's are dotted and T's are crossed. That’s the last time I’ll ever say all lawyers are the same and that toasting a law school graduation is like celebrating a mating dance that brings more snakes into this world.

When I first met with Louis, he was very direct and honest with me. He took the time to listen to my situation. I am grateful for his help. Louis did not try to promise me the world in order to convince me to hire him. What Louis did do was take an honest assessment of my predicament, and he found a ...way to help me. I am very happy that I have Louis as my lawyer. I will continue to use Louis for any times I need legal advice and help. I am extremely happy with his representation of me.

When my young adult son was facing criminal charges (non-violent acts of stupid - theft, marijuana), I asked several people who are familiar with the justice system who they would hire if they needed a criminal defense attorney. Louis' name came up several times so we met with him and hired him immed...iately. We learned quickly why Louis is so well-respected: he's extremely smart, knowledgeable, and highly skilled. Plus, he treats everyone he works with respectfully - witnesses, police officers, the bailiff, other attorneys, and of course, the judge and his client. My son always knew that Louis honestly cared about him and his experience reassured us that Louis knew how to get the best possible outcome. He protected my son's rights at every stage and treated my son's case as unique - even though I'm guessing it was pretty typical stuff. But when it's your life and your future, it doesn't feel "typical" and it's important to have a lawyer who understands that. Btw, my son's friends faced similar charges but did not have as positive an outcome and I know exactly why: Louis.

If you need a lawyer, I recommend that you go see Louis Lim. I had a bad experience with another lawyer on a different case that I had. The other lawyer promised me I wouldn't go to jail if I hired him. The other lawyer also did not explain things to me well, and I was very confused when I ended up s...erving jail time. Louis represented me on a more serious charge and he did not promise me that I would not have to do jail in order to make me hire him. Louis was very honest from the beginning that he could only guarantee that he would do his best for me. He explained my rights and my case in a way that I could understand. Even though the prosecutor wanted to put me in jail, Louis fought for me until I did not have to serve any jail. I am very grateful to Louis for being honest and effective in defending me. I highly recommend Louis!!!

I highly recommend Louis Lim as my attorney. I am grateful to the good sound advice he gave me. Louis saved me from prison and jail time. Louis did not judge me for my mistakes. He cared about me as a person and listened intently to my case and situation. Louis is detail oriented, and he took the t...ime to listen to my story even when I struggled to tell it. Louis was able to convey my story to the judge and make the judge care about me as a person. Louis insured I was treated with dignity throughout this difficult process.
