also known as Don Quinn
During law school I was employed as a Deputy Clerk, Auditor and Bailiff in the Probate Court of Jackson County Missouri. During my two years working in the Probate Court, I learned the importance of good estate planning. I also learned the basics of trying a case before the Probate Court. After law school I worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Charles Shangler in the Missouri Western District Court of Appeals where I honed my skills as a legal writer.
I am admitted to the practice of law in the state of Missouri before all State court including the Western District of Missouri Court of Appeals and the Federal District Court of Missouri. I am a member of the Missouri Bar and a current or former member of the National Trial Lawyers Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association of Greater Kansas City, Missouri and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. I went into private practice with my father, Donald J. Quinn on June 1, 1981. I currently practice law with my son, Matthew D. Quinn ( a third generation lawyer) who is a cum laude graduate of the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Law.
I am a frequent guest speaker on estate planning, elder law and probate matters before both professional, church and civic groups. I have also contributed to stories featured on a local television station.
This past year I was recognized by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association's Military Matters committee as their August, 2019 Pro Bono Volunteer.
I am fluent in spanish and have regularly assisted in pro bono matters involving spanish speaking persons referred to me by various organizations. My son and I also participate with the Neighborhood Justice Center with other volunteer attorneys out of the offices located at St. Francis Xavier Parish, representing people in the urban core, who cannot afford an attorney and have not been able to obtain the services of a Legal Aid attorney.
I graduated from Rockhurst High School in 1974 and then graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a B/A-English in 1977. I graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in 1980. I have attended numerous post graduate continuing legal education courses and I am conversant with the latest issues regarding Probate and Trust Litigation.
I have litigated cases before the Probate Judges in Jackson, Clay, Cass, Platte, St. Clair and Benton Counties in Missouri and in Johnson and Wyandotte County, Kansas (with local counsel). I have also argued cases before the Western District Court of Appeals of Missouri.
Some clients say I have a "type A" personality. Maybe they are right. What I do know is that I really care about my clients and in getting them the best results possible.

Successful Probate Garnishment
Don Quinn was hired to pursue a breached conservatorship trust fund. He successfully located the person and their employer. Garnishment was served. I thought it was a lost cause but Mr. Quinn persistent and ethical in every way.
Thank you Lucy for the kind words. I love nothing more than to help out people who need help in the probate area.

When my estranged brother died, I called Don's office on a referral from a friend to help with his probate estate. Don had me in to the office right away, took some notes and then prepared a plan to find and then marshall (his word not mine) all my brother's assets. No will so Don had to figure ou...

The Quinns did a great job of calming my fears after my wife died
I used the Quinns to review my estate plan after my wife died. I couldn't remember where anything was, including my trust and the Quinns were able to reconstruct my file by contacting the Courthouse, my CFP and banks. They were really helpful.
