Marvin Karl Hawkins Jr.

I had questions about two completely different subjects. 1. A class action suit against a previous employer 2. My late husbands pension. Although Mr. Hawkins does not typically deal with the first of the two he advised that I bring the information along and he could look at it and would refer me to the appropriate lawyer if needed. I was able to get an appointment within two or three days of contacting him. He is always very kind and takes him time to answer all my questions and make sure I understand what is going on. Fortunately for me, none of it was serious but the fact thatI was able to meet with Mr.Hawkins and get some answers gave me a tremendous peace of mind. I no longer have to wonder what the answers are. Mr. Hawkins office is always polite and friendly.

Atty Hawkins filed my bankruptcy case and helped me with all stages of my trustee plan. He even helped with follow up motions because my car was wrecked. He was great through it all!

We used M. Karl Hawkins to make our wills, trust, and powers of attorney this summer. He listened to what we needed, was very helpful and answered all our questions. During our first meeting, he made us both feel as comfortable as possible talking about things that needed to be decided, but were not easy to discuss or decide. He was helpful in coming up with a great compromise for dividing our assets despite my spouse not having any living relatives and us not having children of our own. He also did not blink an eye when we wanted to make sure someone was able to take care of our pets if something happened to us. He was thorough, helped us understand all steps in the process and provided clear instructions for how we should handle modifications or additions to each document in the future. I have consulted with Karl Hawkins on several matters, primarily real estate law. His counsel has invariably been extemely helpful, and has allowed me to successfully navigate issues with contractors, financial institutions, and tenants. Even though I had been paying on a delinquent account the creditor chose to sue me. Mr. Hawkins successfully negotiated with the creditor and kept the issue out of court. His skill at negotiating is excellent. He was easy to talk to and explained what was happening in a in a friendly, courteous manner. I highly recommend him.

Mr. Hawkins, Jr. was our estate planner and wrote our will. He and his staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. During the process, if we had questions after leaving a meeting with Mr. Harkins, we called or e-mailed our concerns and they were prompt in returning the information we needed.
