Mr. Myzia was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He went the extra mile (literally) driving all the way to Rockford from the Chicago suburbs to meet with me after a long day. I had the opportunity to observe Mr. Myzia work on a case involving a family member. I attended all consultations and court appearances. I highly recommend him. Finding a lawyer in the wake of an unexpected, scary situation is a difficult task. We contacted half a dozen different lawyers/firms in ...Rockford. After consulting with all of them, we narrowed our search to two attorneys: Mr. Myzia and an attorney from Rockford's largest law firm. At our meeting with the latter, we mentioned we were going to choose between them and Mr. Myzia. The competing attorney actually *endorsed* Mr. Myzia, remarking that he was "the most articulate person" they'd ever met. Our initial consultation with Mr. Myzia was great, but we wanted to be sure we were investing in the best possible attorney, so we asked around about him. Everyone said the same thing: He did absolutely stellar work in the prosecutor's office, which has translated into top tier defense work on behalf of private clients. We hired Mr. Myzia and he immediately began working on our behalf. He pursued every option available to make all possible improvements to our predicament. Not all of them came to fruition, but that's what makes his work so impressive--he pursued even unlikely avenues of success, on the chance that they might pan out. He did everything in his power to help us. One effort of his that did pay huge dividends for us was diligently listening to our version of events, subpoenaing relevant documents and materials on our behalf, negotiating on our behalf with the prosecutor, and ultimately securing an amicable agreement with the prosecutor that undeniably improved my family member's life for the better. Truth be told, Mr. Myzia's rate is far too low. The amount of hours and expertise he brought to our case was invaluable, but if I had to put a price on it, it certainly would've been several multiples of his retainer. Mr. Myzia appeared with us in court multiple times, consulted with us at his office several more times, and was always available, responsive, and proactive in corresponding via text message (as well by phone and email when necessary). I was also pleased with Mr. Myzia's moral integrity and dedication to public service. He always spoke in the most respectful terms of his "opponents" in court. He always sought to discover the truth, taking our perspective fully into account. And he never overpromised; everything he pledged he delivered (and then some). It's no surprise that he was able to achieve such productive and positive interactions with the prosecutor and the judge. Such ethical standards should not be overlooked; they are crucial to Mr. Myzia's reputation and have earned the respect of his colleagues and opponents. As if all the above isn't enough, Mr. Myzia is brilliant. He carefully researched past cases, seeking relevant precedent for ours. He found an important relevant case and constructed a legal argument in our defense based on it, which he then submitted to the prosecutor. The prosecutor agreed with Mr. Myzia's argument, which allowed us to reach our desired agreement. Should you ever find yourself in the undesirable position of needing an attorney to defend you, I can't imagine it gets better than Mr. Myzia. Professionalism, courtesy, friendliness, charm, intelligence, work ethic, experience, achievement--these are just some of Mr. Myzia's key qualities. We are forever grateful for Mr. Myzia's services.
