Biography
Mr. Chern is the Managing Partner of Biz Head Law. He primarily helps small businesses determine if they are eligible for various tax credits created under the Internal Revenue Code and other statutes. Previously, He practiced exclusively in the areas of bankruptcy and consumer protection law for over 20 years. As a Managing Partner of two of the country’s premier consumer bankruptcy law firms, under Mr. Chern’s direction, his firm’s have represented over 75,000 consumers and discharged over a billion dollars in debt. He has been described by his peers as, “Very thorough, diligent and knowledgeable,” and hundreds have endorsed him for his excellence, in bankruptcy, consumer protection, and law firm management. Mr. Chern has written dozens of articles for practice management periodicals and State Bar Journals and has spoken at numerous continuing legal education seminars for lawyers. He is considered to be at the forefront of innovation in the delivery of legal services. He believes that he has an obligation to use his understanding of technology to increase access to legal services to those who otherwise might not be able use the services of an attorney or would simply prefer to interact with their attorney via digital means.
In the past, Mr. Chern has been the creator and administrator of numerous nationwide legal marketing businesses, a marketing, technology, business development and law firm management consultant to 1100+ law firms nationwide, architect of five comprehensive law office CRMs and dozens of legal websites, and a notable expert in law practice development having created practices in bankruptcy, consumer protection litigation, bankruptcy litigation, class action litigation, lemon law, personal injury, workers compensation and DUI defense.
Chern believes one of his greatest achievements is his track record of building successful law firms and businesses that provide employees with stimulating and energizing work environments. By promoting a strong culture among employees and implementing excellent internal processes, Mr. Chern, along with the rest of the Firm’s management team, has a created a world class organization that delivers the highest level of legal services to clients in the new virtual economy.
Mr. Chern resides in Chicago, IL and is a proud father of a two children. He is an avid Cubs and Blackhawks fan. He also loves live music, especially jazz and spends his free time making the most of the city.
