Cameron handled a family law matter for me. He did a excellent job. He was trustworthy and responsive. He took the time to make sure I understood everything and made sure we were both on the same page. He demonstrated a through knowledge of the law and kept me informed at every step of the way. He is a excellent negotiator and, when appropriate, and aggressive advocate. I am grateful I sought his advice.
Representation was better than I could have imagined
First and foremost I found myself trusting Cameron more than any council I've ever retained. In divorce/maintenance proceedings, we all know that more attorney's than not will antagonize, aggravate, and provoke each side into escalating legal fees. Fortunately, I found it doesn't have to be that way. What was at one point a hostile and seemingly impossible situation, Cameron was able to negotiate and ultimately conciliate a fair settlement with the respondent and opposing council that was nothing short of rigid, ill-disposed, and spiteful. Cameron knows the law, what arguments will fly and the arguments that won't. He presents himself extremely well to the judge while at the same time flustering opposing council (several occasions). In the end, Cameron was the reason two people were able to get on with their lives with an agreed order. I highly recommend Cameron and certainly consider him a friend going forward.

Cameron H. Goodman is the founder and managing attorney of Goodman Law Firm, an experienced Chicago area boutique law firm specializing in divorce and family law.  Mr. Goodman attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he double majored in History and Political Science. Knowing a career in law was in his future he interned for a law firm while in college and served as a member of the University of Wisconsin's Mock Trial Team.Â
Mr. Goodman began his legal career in 2000 after graduating from Chicago-Kent College of Law with High Honors. While in law school, Mr. Goodman served as a member of both the Chicago-Kent Law Review and Moot Court Team. Mr. Goodman also had the distinct honor of being elected to the Order of the Coif. Mr. Goodman earned a Certificate in Mediation & Alternative Dispute Resolution from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Mr. Goodman continues to use the skills he garnered in this unique program today. After graduating, Mr. Goodman had the opportunity to work for some of Chicago's finest law firms where he worked as a litigator gaining valuable experience under the supervision of Chicago's most well respected attorneys.
Philosophy Today, Mr. Goodman uses his experience to advocate for his clients. With over sixteen years of legal experience, he understands that when you hire an attorney you expect a relentless, but efficient advocate who will fight on your behalf. Mr. Goodman has the skill necessary to win courtroom battles, the creativity and demeanor to negotiate settlements and the insight to know when to take which course of action.   Mr. Goodman believes his clients deserve continuity of representation, which means he will handle your case from start to finish.  This approach eliminates the additional billable hours often necessary when a new attorney is staffed on your case. It also means Mr. Goodman will personally and timely respond to your family law questions and will have full knowledge of your case when you call.Â
Mr. Goodman subscribes to a client-centric approach to the practice of law. This means educating his clients at each step in the process.Â

Not looking out for your best interest
I almost became divorced by default because of Cameron. He kept asking for the money asap. I finally did despite my financial situation which he was well aware of. I emailed him about a court date and some paperwork. He failed to respond about that and sent me calculations for support instead. Which was completely irrelevant since we were trying to figure out a parenting plan in court. He finally tells me hes never worked with anyone with children. What really kills me is he went through my retainer money in one email while another attorney who did court appearances, motions etc charged me that which lasted 7 months. Can you imagine the anguish i feel just knowing that happend? If thats not being scammed i dont know what that is.
