I used Jeff Muntz at Goosetree Law for some post decree matters. Unfortunately post decree can be just as if not more stressful than an initial divorce. My prior attorney had retired and he recommended Jeff, and I’m so glad he did. Jeff was always calm, collected, reasonable, and gave me sound advice.... There were many times where the opposing council in my case was irrational, unreasonable, and neglecting basic duties as an attorney, so I appreciated that Jeff was not afraid to fight back and always stood up for my rights. Jeff Muntz completely turned my case around - he is the reason my baby boy has equal and frequent access to both me and his mom. As a single father navigating a contentious divorce and fighting for parenting time and overnights, the odds seemed against me. When my previous attorney wasn't able to ...get a favourable outcome, I contacted Goostree Law Group and retained Jeff in January 2021. Swift and to the point, he isn't afraid to take on an aggressive opposing attorney. Shortly after he took my case, my parenting time was expanded to overnights. Throughout the case, Jeff was extremely knowledgeable and professional. The way he bills time is very fair and convenient whenever I needed to have a short phone call with him. He gives clear updates after every court appearance. Most importantly, Jeff's experience as a GAL and understanding of the legal system proved invaluable. He was able to bring the opposing party to the table and negotiated a settlement favourable for everyone, resulting in 50/50 parenting time before our boy turned one. If you're a father reading this now, then you know that's not an easy feat in Illinois. I should add, he makes for a pretty good therapist, though I don't recommend it from a financial standpoint LOL - it's better and cheaper to keep your inner noise to a minimum and go for a jog instead. No doubt divorces can be expensive. Jeff's hourly rate is higher than some other attorneys, but that's for a good reason. In hindsight, I would've spent a LOT less money overall if I had hired Jeff Muntz from the start. For those in the middle of it, hang in there - it does get easier. My case ended in September 2021, and things have been pretty great since. Maybe you're lucky and you're going through an easy case, or perhaps your case is more like mine, and you feel like there's no way forward. Either way, get Jeff!
