Excellent attorney and wonderful staff

Mr. Sulaiman was of great assistance to my problem, he reviewed my options, he was attentive, sympathetic and understanding to my dilemma. After discussing information on my options it became very easy for me to see that I had found a wonderful, knowledgeable, experienced lawyer. Mr. Sulaiman explain...ed everything so that I would completely understand every possible option open to me. Upon ending our meeting Mr. Sulaiman had solved my problem that I thought had no solution. I can't thank him enough! His staff is friendly, courteous, and sensitive to your particular needs. Prior to coming into the office I was so stressed and unsure of what would happen however, after coming to see Mr. Sulaiman I was completely put at ease. Thank you again for your help!

Knowledgeable lawyer. Questionable honesty.

I had a consultation with Mr Sulaiman a few days ago. He and his staff were polite and friendly. During the first 5 min, I clearly stated to him that my goal was loan modification and was not at all interested in bankruptcy. I was solvent and made profit from rental properties. However he continued t...rying to persuade me to go with the bankruptcy. He tried to lure me into the additional benefit of filing a bankruptcy which would allow me to collect rent without paying mortgage for at least a year. It sounded nice until at the very end when he mentioned that all tenants must be notified of the foreclosure. I’ve worked in this rental business for almost a decade. Tenants either leave or stop paying rent once they learn about foreclosure. So much for his great saving scheme; collect rent without paying mortgage for a year. When I asked about one of the foreclosure defending strategies (produced the note) to be used to strengthen my negotiation with the banks, he told me that the banks have original notes. He said that the original notes were stored in the vault somewhere in California and they could produce it anytime. Wow, I was surprised to hear this from him. He knew that my loan was originated by Countrywide Home Loan years ago and was sold to Fannie Mae to be put in the pool and bundled/sold as mortgage back security to institutional investors. When I mentioned this fact to him, he conveniently changed the story to “oh the banks would just forge the notes that they don’t have and try to foreclosure”. Basically he knew about the note forgery scandals but he made up the story about the vault in California… He also tried to tell me that judges in Chicago would ignore the fake documents and rule in favor of bankers. I haven’t checked this claim yet. He then continued trying to convince me that bankruptcy (his main business) is my best option. I felt like a fool paying $150 to listen to him selling me the bankruptcy even though I initially let him know it wasn’t my goal. The guy was knowledgeable but I seriously doubted his honestly. He seemed to always ready to bend the facts or make up stories to support his sales on bankruptcy. He could be an excellent salesman, but I would not recommend him to be used as a lawyer.

I hope this message finds you well. I sincerely apologize for the experience you had with our office and specifically with me. This work is my passion and I attempt to apply my trade with consistent commitment to the best interests of the Client. I have represented hundreds of people in your situation who have underwater properties who were able to sever their personal liability and successfully rebuild, effectively eviscerating any possibility of a deficiency judgment haunting them. I believe you to be a kind, educated and respectable man who understands how difficult it is to build something from scratch as we have done here. Therefore, I sincerely wish you the highest success in your endeavors. I respectfully request that you examine the matters I discussed with you in light of my responsibility as an Attorney to explain to you what I would do in your fact pattern. As a fiduciary, I am sworn to provide the advice that our experience and knowledge would have us do in the exact situation you described. Please forgive my inability to translate with sincerity my advice. Having one’s integrity challenged for the world to see is a fate I wish on no one, but this is the life I have chosen. I and the rest of our team have worked many years to acquire the knowledge necessary to skillfully serve our Clients. Please take that in consideration while contemplating the actual damage your reviews have had on our firm and the amazingly committed and passionate individuals who work here. We have never had a negative review from a Client who actually used our service. In fact, we are the most positively reviewed law firm in the State of Illinois in our area of law. Finally, I must submit to you that every statement I made to you in our consult was true and accurate and the advice I provided reflects exactly what I would do in your situation. Below please find an article published in the Wisconsin State Journal on March 4, 2012. Part of the article includes an interview of an honorable and good man I know personally. The article describes his plight with a property owned in Wisconsin where his lender miraculously produced the note after years of searching. It was found in an obscure storage facility in Texas. At any rate, I wish you the best and again please forgive me if I have said or did anything to discourage you from seeking counsel to assist you in your efforts in dealing with your situation. Merry Christmas to you Sir. “Company Vault Yields Note Not all such challenges are successful. Mike Hilla of Chicago is among those who used the "show-me-the-note" defense. In an interview, Hilla said he stopped paying for the rental home he owns in Fitchburg when his monthly mortgage payment ballooned by more than $800 a month to $2,280 in 2009. But Hilla, whose job was to bundle and sell mortgages to Wall Street, saw his income plummet as the housing market collapsed. Late last month, he lost his bid in Dane County Circuit Court after Wells Fargo brought in one of its top officials, along with what it said was the original mortgage note from a company vault in Texas. Judge Richard Niess seemed particularly bothered that Hilla — who has failed to pay his mortgage, property taxes or insurance for more than two years — would get the Fitchburg rental home free and clear. Hilla, whose principal balance was $402,718 at the time he stopped paying, now owes Wells Fargo at least $525,695 in taxes, insurance and other fees, the bank's operations analyst, Michael Dolan, testified.” http://host.madison.com/news/local/crime_and_courts/foreclosed-homeowners-challenge-banks-to-prove-they-still-hold-their/article_98e90670-64d3-11e1-b12d-001871e3ce6c.html
