Biography
I have been practicing family law for more than 20 years, focussing my practice in helping clients resolve family issues respectfully and with a minimum strain on family financial resources as well as family relationships. I concentrate on Collaborative Practice and Mediation, as well as negotiated settlements, all of which work well for matters involving divorce, premarital and postnuptial agreements, paternity issues, and related matters. I do not take cases to trial. My success rate in resolving problems without court is high.
I teach Mediation adn Collaborative Practice at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, helping prepare future lawyers to offer alternative solutions to their future clients. I also have spearheaded providing Collaborative training for local professionals, a venture which involves utilizing locally trained Collaborative practitioners in the fields of law, mental health, and finance to train new Collaborative professionals in this field. Training has been held at Loyola Law School for the past several years.
As an active member of several bar associations, i participate in Pro Bono activities throughout the year including volunteer mediation for the Lake County Family Courts, work with the Lake County Mortgage Foreclosure Help Desk, and with CVLS mortgage foreclosure mediation in Cook County.
