I worked with Theresa Beran Kulat and the Trinity Family Law team to complete my divorce in less than one year. I had hope to use the Collaborative process but, in the end, followed a non-adversarial, uncontested approach. Theresa clearly explained what a judge would allow in the asset division and w...here there was room to negotiate. I appreciated her approach in being honest in presenting the facts and data but negotiated hard for the best settlement. When obstacles were encountered Theresa presented me with different approaches to deal with the barrier. What initially sold me on Theresa was the upfront time she spent explaining the process, even before I retained her. That was very helpful in my selection of an attorney versus other approaches, such as, litigation or DIY divorce. In my professional career I have work with many corporate attorneys and learned quickly divorce attorneys do not have the same sense of urgency and are extremely slow. Theresa and the TFL team did an extremely great job of keeping the case moving forward, following up on open items and keeping me updated along the way. Great! I appreciated being billed monthly and not getting surprised late in the case. The Trinity Family Law billing and payment process works like clockwork. Also, the TFL team was very helpful in the collection of my documents and modeling different settlements. I found the team to be very professional and easy to work with throughout the process. I would highly recommend Theresa and Trinity Family Law for a Collaborative or uncontested divorce.

Theresa was highly engaged in the process & did a fantastic job explaining everything so we knew what our options were from day 1. I appreciated her willingness to give us time to do what we needed to in order to establish a workable plan for our family. She made recommendations for what worked best ...for us, but also listened when we had questions or concerns.

Theresa was cordial and very professional. She does not waste your time. She gave me analysis of what she sees happening when couples don’t agree to have a prenup and how prenup has saved couple. One thing I like about her is her prenup agreement are rewritten like a love letter but also strong to ...cover contractually agreed terminology by law. She is thorough but a little expensive that what I expected. Hence my 4 stars. I would recommend her firm to any engaged couple.

I would highly recommend Theresa and her firm for mediation. Divorce is overwhelming both financially and emotionally and Theresa helped alleviate both. We had just signed with Theresa in Feb 2020 before Pandemic quarantine. She remained in communication with us via email and once quarantine was lif...ted, in Illinois at end of May, we met with Theresa in person. This was so helpful and needed in our process. We continued to meet from June through October with much success. We turned our work with her over to our attorneys. Yet, in February we needed to continue discussions and Theresa was available and ever helpful again. She has a wonderful way of listening to both sides, creating a safe space for all and presenting many options. She helped support us to maintain a healthy communication relationship that will continue to guide us with our young adult children and moving forward. All you have to do is meet with Theresa and you will know she is the right person to support you through a challenging and difficult life transition.
