I have 4 DUI arrests. 2 of which i took convictions on and the other 2 where reduced to reckless driving. At this point i have not drove since 2007. I hired Jerald and not only do i live in New York now, he was able to complete my Out of State Petitioners Packet for me. Went through all t...he necessary documents and provided me with over the top care on making sure everything was in order. I knew Jerald was the right guy for the job when I first contacted him for some questions. Nothing is free, and I understood this. I agreed to the $400 per hour fee for basic questions about my case. I talk when I think I know what I'm talking about. He let me know I didn't know much about what I was... talking about, and asked me to "please be quiet and listen to me for a minute. It's your money". He explained the Illinois system of how all our tests and answers put us into a numerical system and what we look like to the State of Illinois. Needless to say, based on my tests and answers I didn't look very good. This was my second DUI charge from the State, but had 3 on record. This was a long process. I lost my license January 4, 2009. I hired Jerald for the hour talk in summer of 2011. After all his excellent information, he said to contact him closer to my date of possible re-instatement, which was Jan 4, 2014. I was working in Maine, at the time, but knew I'd be moving back to Montana and would have to do an out-of-state petitioners package. No way in hell was I going to try and figure that debacle out alone. I contacted Jerald, again around October 2013, as the reinstatement date was coming up. He is a very expensive lawyer, so I had to come up with, I believe half the bill. I was able to get help from family and retained Jerald around July 2014. Throughout this time I had correspondence with Jerald and his secretary, (not sure if proper title) Nicole. Nicole is the most helpful person I have dealt with. She answered all my questions, transferred me to Jerald, and did so much for me knowing I was always calling from MT. She got the ball rolling by pulling up prior DUI arrests and any records from any other states; essentially building my portfolio. I was as patient as I could be, but some days would fall apart, and wonder what was happening. I'd give Jerald a check in/check up. He never ignored me. Never. Always called back, sometimes maybe a couple days later, but he always called back. He always answered my questions, but more importantly, he understood my frustrations and listened to them. Many times asking me what I expected. Did I want to rush the process and poke an already angry bear, as is the State of Illinois Sec. of State? Or did I want to remain patient and calm, let him do his job and get this taken care of. He was correct. Remain patient. My DUI destroyed my life. Knocked me down from a Superintendent to carpenter status, which I don't care about status, but with that title crap comes money. I lost a lot of money because of my DUI. I had to turn down jobs and miss work because of my DUI. So, all this is happening, and I'm still waiting, and Jan. 4 reinstatement has come and gone and I'm still waiting. 2014 comes and goes. 2015 comes and we get out of state packet completed and sent off, only to wait on the State of Illinois. They took up to the last day of legally looking at my package, which was 3 or 6 months, and delayed me on a bullshit technicality. Now, let me explain, Jerald told me to be EXACT and to be PERFECT with any correspondence with the Sec. of State. They asked for proof of residence. I sent them a pay stub that had an # in front of my condo number. For instance Lake St. #3. They had Lake St. 3 in my packet. So, the wonderful State of Illinois delayed me another 3 months before even looking at my packet, because of a pound sign! All this time, I'm freaking out, and calling Jerald. He's still helping. Still answering my calls. Still telling me to calm down and asking me if I wanted to poke that bear, or just give them their time. They finally sent a letter saying they were reviewing my case! Then said answer would be in September of 2016; 6 more months!!! Buddy calls me, first week of July to tell me he has a letter for me. It was my reinstatement! Jerald did it. We did it. I'm a 44 year old man. After 7 1/2 years, I had my life back. I cried. You're the best, Jerald! Thank you so much!!
