Before starting my own law firm, I worked for law firms in New York City. I represented people and businesses in lawsuits in court. Other clients needed help with transactions for themselves or their businesses. Some of my favorite clients were young families and small business owners and working with them inspired me to start my own law firm in 2011.

What I Learned

Starting my own business helped me understand the challenges and opportunities that confront business owners at all stages of their entrepreneurial journeys. I was immediately amazed at the creative and innovative ways that these businesses worked with their customers. We quickly learned that the heart of a small business is constantly learning and adapting to the changing markets we all operate in.

My business grew and expanded with my clients. We were able to explore new and innovative ways to move our businesses forward. For some clients, their business reached its zenith and it was time to plan for the future or, in some cases, divest their interest or dissolve their partnership so they can pursue new business opportunities.

Who Are My Clients

Running these businesses are people who are passionate and have non-business matters that need legal guidance too. For those individuals, I have represented them in real estate transactions, trust agreements, estate planning, and other legal arrangements to plan for their futures. Unfortunately, some people have complex and high conflict family matters, including divorces, child custody fights and domestic violence orders of protection, and I strive to get the best possible outcomes and treat their cases with the dignity and respect that such an emotional time needs.

What I Do When I Am Not In The Office

When not practicing law, I’m an avid soccer fan and music lover who enjoys playing tennis and exploring my untapped potential as an amateur chef. Each day, I try to wind down with a good book and I am always on the lookout for a good book to read next. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them!

My wife and I worked with Andrew to create our family wills/estate planning. This was a new process for us and Andrew helped guide us the whole way. We had many questions as we progressed. Andrew was very responsive and answered them all helping us make informed decisions. A cool, calm professional who I’d recommend using for estate planning or any other legal services he offers.

President (corporation)
Andrew Ayers is a refreshing change from most of the lawyers I have dealt with in the past. He is responsive and very efficient. Some of the firms I have dealt with put two or three people on a case that could be handled by one in half the time. I am happy to give him a top rating.

Excellent Attorney In Every Way
I have known Andrew Ayers for fifteen years and recommend him highly, without reservations. He has handled two matters for me: a divorce, and my will. There are two main criteria for choosing an attorney: competence and temperament. Andrew brings the best of both. Competence. He’s the best. Smart, knowledgeable and experienced. He has a thorough knowledge of the law and the ability to apply it. He will guide you through the complex issues and steps of your case. Andrew is thorough, works hard, and will keep you informed. Temperament. Andrew is steady and low key. Nothing seems to faze him. I always got the impression that he knows people and listens closely. He comes across as serious and low key. BUT he is also the tough advocate you want in your corner. I got quite an education watching his usual affable, friendly demeanor turn steely when my now-ex husband and his attorney tried to use hostility, hysteria and intimidation as tactics. Rather than engaging on their level or becoming confused and sidetracked, he would simply restate our position, request clarification, point out errors and seek negotiation. There are two kinds of divorce lawyers: problem instigators and problem solvers. The instigators amplify their clients’ anger and narcissism. Flashy, dramatic and insulting, they feed on the couple’s problems, stir the pot, and multiply the issues. The problem solver calmly and persistently seeks to negotiate an acceptable compromise. That’s Andrew. Andrew helped me handle myself during a tough time in my life. He told me to always “take the high road”. This was advice that I did not want to hear. However, he would explain the way the courts work, how judges think, and the probable consequences of moves I might have made. I realized he was speaking from experience. He would have stood by me if I didn’t listen, but I would have made things harder for myself. In the end, I followed his advice, and got what I wanted. Andrew helped me sort out a situation that I thought was hopeless, and therefore will always be my lawyer. A few years after this, when I was ready for a Will, he had moved halfway across the continent. A Will is pretty much drama-free, and he gave me the name of someone in my town. However, there was no question in my mind who I was going to hire. So, with the phone, the internet, and a trip out to see him, we got it done. I recommend Andrew Ayers without reservation.
