Top-notch person, attorney.

I'm an employment attorney, and I can tell you right now that if I myself ever needed an employment lawyer, Ben would be at the top of my list. He is an incredibly compassionate, thorough, and deep-thinking lawyer. Not only does he practice law for the right reasons, but he consistently seeks to unde...rstand everything in the bigger picture. That leads to him providing his clients with the best kind of advocate they could hope for -- a cause lawyer who thinks practically and fully dedicates themselves to his work.

Moving forward with gratitude

I have never needed a lawyer for anything in my life, until I did. The circumstances of a “Me Too” case is confusing, intimidating, emotional and overwhelming. Like being lost in a haunted forest. I couldn’t imagine a way out of the fog. The first time I met Ben to review the difficult detail...s of my legal dilemma, I was terrified. Being in the situation was bad enough but having to explain it to a stranger was horrifying. It wasn’t long into the conversation before I felt completely at ease with him. His was compassionate, understanding and empathetic. I knew immediately that I could trust him implicitly. My situation was complicated, and I couldn’t see the forest through the trees. As we began to work through the details of my dispute, Ben quickly identified the crux of my case. Confirming what I had felt all along – that what had happened to me wasn’t just wrong, it was illegal. When I broke down, he kept me focused on the big picture and my goals. He was a sounding board when I needed guidance, he pushed me when I needed pushing and he successfully got me through it. I certainly hope nobody has to endure a legal battle with an employer, but if you do, you can count on Ben to guide you through the complexities of a legal claim with expertise, dedication and warmth. I have a long road ahead of me but I am forever grateful for Ben and everything he has done to provide a path to healing.

Professional, and helpful.

Mr. Kwan was a perfect attorney that helped me navigate the legal system. He made sure my best interest always came first, and that his strategy kept my views in mind. Not only was he a great lawyer and advocate, but I felt like Mr. Kwan was more of a friend.

Knowledgeable and Effective

I was a client with Haller Kwan in a wrongful termination suit against a former employer. I brought my situation to 7 firms in Minneapolis, and 1 in Chicago, seeking counsel and information. All 8 of them offered to take my case- but I am VERY GLAD that I chose Haller Kwan. My situation was compl...icated, and along the way Ben and Ted were always able to explain the relevant circumstances of the law and educate me on the possibilities of how things would play out. These guys taught me a lot about the law and how it affects me. Most importantly, they were very conscious of my best interests given the many years in my career that I have left. We ended up targeting and attaining a favorable settlement outcome that has allowed me to rid myself of a negative situation, recover from the financial damages caused by my employer's unethical behavior, and point blank put the entire dilemma in the past. There were many moments this could have turned into a 'headline case' with big-time exposure, and other litigators would have pushed me deeper into legal battles for the sake of their own PR. Haller Kwan respected that was not my wish- and yet were still skilled enough to stand for my rights and get a great outcome. I would confidently say that anybody considering their services can depend on a team that will be dedicated to your needs, your feedback, and will pursue a goal that is truly aligned with your life. That doesn't mean they will sugar-coat what may not be great news... but they will certainly be able to explain the facts in a way that is easy for you to understand and make a decision from.
