Kwan DISHONORS his promise

Exactly 13 minutes into a promised 20-minute free phone consultation, Ben Kwan said, "This conversation is over." I was polite and respectful, and still reeling from an employment termination. To be fair, Kwan was initially empathetic to my situation, but when he concluded that he would not repre...sent me, his mood and words abruptly changed. At that point, realizing that I might need to represent myself but unaware of the process, I asked him simple and general procedural questions that he easily could have answered. Or at minimum, he could have politely declined and explained why. Instead, Ben Kwan was rude and abrupt, and turned a legal nightmare into a bigger one. Here's hoping that Kwan realizes that litigants do not choose their case or facts, and not all of them conveniently service his bottom line. For those who don't, a simple request: Be decent, and honor your promise.

I am sorry you caught me on a day where I was preoccupied by other matters and could have used a bit more of the empathy you mentioned—and patience.
