About me

I am a Licensed Minnesota Attorney and Solo-Practice Owner, focused in Family Law Practice, as well as a mother to four amazing and beautiful young children and a dedicated volunteer legal advocate for individuals and families experiencing high-conflict or crisis situations.

Through my solo-practice, I primarily represent clients in Family Law cases, including divorce, post-divorce proceedings, custody and parenting time issues, child support hearings and a wide range of family related matters. My private practice experiences include cases involving custodial fathers, domestic violence, child endangerment, guardian ad litem appointments, drug and mental health issues, child protection issues, third-party custody, and other complex and sensitive contested litigation proceedings.

In addition to family law cases, I provide limited legal services for a variety of criminal defense cases and other general legal practice matters. I take great pride in developing long term relationships with many of my clients and as a result, almost all of my incoming case work is based on referrals from former and current clients.

Last, but not least, I am passionate about my work as volunteer attorney, dedicating a portion of my most recent years in legal practice towards offering pro-bono advise and advocacy for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, while promoting self-education, resources and opportunities for these individuals to begin rebuilding peace and safety within themselves, as individuals, and their families.

My current interests and goals in this public service capacity include using utilizing my knowledge and skills developed through completion of my Masters Degree in Public Administration, by reasearching the development of initiatives for raising judicial awareness on both the short and long term effects that domestic violence has on victims and their families, who are members all races, cultures and classes in our society.  My future goals and aspirations include expanding my work in this capacity by exploring methods for improving the general population and social community responses towards those who chose to stand up and speak out, for themselves, their families, and others, by sharing their stories, as survivors.

I have appeared in many District Courts across the State of Minnesota and have enjoyed opportunities to work with a large diversity of clients from many different communities and backgrounds, experiencing a wide variety of personal or family circumstances and legal situations. I taken great pride in my growing dedication to serving the public by offering assistance and advocacy to many individuals and their families who could not otherwise afford legal representation during a time in their lives when they need it the most.

"One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.  Approaching the boy, he asked, "What are you doing?"  The youth replied, "Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out.  If I don't throw them back, they'll die."   "Son," the man said, "don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?  You can't make a difference!"  After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf.  Then, smiling at the man, he said  "I made a difference for that one."
