My experience with Daniel S. Adkins and NORTH STAR CRIMINAL DEFENSE was nothing short of a nightmare. When a family member was arrested and we were told that a felony charge was pending we called Dan Adkins. He was there to facilitate the release from jail, he told us exactly what to expect without any sugar coating, and he told us what the most likely scenarios would be for the future. And that wa...s all for free! After wisely deciding to retain him, we were told to expect a felony charge that he hoped to argue down to a misdemeanor or even probation. He was available via phone, email, or in person to address our many questions and concerns. Dan developed a strategy he felt would give us the best chance at a favorable outcome. The bottom line is that after following Dan's guidance it ended up that charges were never filed (even though there was a confession.) To go from an immanent felony charge to having the matter closed without ANY charges was hard to believe. To say that we were amazed and grateful is a huge understatement. I wholeheartedly recommend Dan Adkins and the North Star Criminal Defense Team to anyone who does not want one mistake in judgment define the rest of their lives.

I was one of Mr. Adkins fairly rare family law clients. He messed up my divorce!!! I never got a copy of my final stipulated judgment and decree from him. I figured it was no big deal, as i had a copy of the proposed order that went to the judge for signayure, so i figured that i knew the contents. ...Six years later, I requested a copy from the court. I found out that the judge had made additional findings that my now ex husband was responsible for a large portion of debt. Since I hadn't known this, I had long since paid the debt. Shame on this guy. He should have provided me with a final copy and probably drawn my attention to this important fact.

I was nearing the end of my case and my attorney wanted me to take a deal I was very unhappy with. But I had used him in the past and he had a reputation as being the best Harvard educated attorney in out area. I did trust him but didn't think he really tried in my case. I had a friend who was helpin...g me out a lot because he is very knowledgeable about law. He asked if he could just talk to a friend (Dan) a little bit about my case. It was late on a Friday night, but I was on the phone talking with Mr. Adkins with in one half hour. I was scared to death and just in a tizzy about what my current attorney wanted me to do. He took care of transferring attorneys at the very last minute and did everything for me including all of the court stuff needing to be filed and changed. I finally got to relax for a weekend. I was relieved and finally felt like someone was going to look at the little things in my case that will end up being the big facts that will change the course of the case I believe. I feel so much more confident and safe having Dan represent me, and we haven't even gone to court yet. Someone stated earlier that Mr. Adkins is an over confident attorney. Well, he does speak quick and to the point, with factual confidence. Isn't this how you want him to represent you in the courtroom? I do, so I like his quick facts and knowledge just thrown at you. We obviously got caught up in something that we want to get the best outcome for. So does Dan. He is competitive and likes to win as well. In the short time I have been corresponding with him, I know I would use him in the future...for other legal matters, not criminal. I would recommend him to family and friends in a minute.

I was recommended to Dan by a friend, and continue to recommend him to anyone possible. I was doubtful at first as he seemed like any over-confident lawyer out there, but soon learned that he is confident for a reason. He's blunt and runs a tighter schedule, but easy to communicate with on a professi...onal and personal level and generally more than willing to find time for you. He is easy to contact, knows exactly what he's doing, and will work hard to resolve your case in the best way possible for your situation. He has helped and continues to help me with multiple traffic (DUI/DAR)/criminal/civil cases for almost a year. Keep him updated/informed and he will work wonders for you.
